Ever since demonetisation was announced on November 8, Opposition parties have behaved in the most irresponsible and irrational manner. While they are unsure about the sanctity of the step, they have simply raised a bogey of accusations against the Prime Minister on the pretext of the inevitable inconvenience caused to the public in general without realising its benefits in the long run. In the Parliament they created ruckus almost every day thereby not letting Legislative business to
happen. While almost all Opposition leaders spoke on the issue, the Treasury Benches were not allowed to speak .In the 21 days of sitting, 92 hours were lost in the Lok Sabha and 85 in the Rajya Sabha. Just one Bill of consequence, the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2016, was passed by the Parliament. Otherwise, except during obituary references , the two Houses of the Parliament were drowned in chaos over the Opposition parties agitation on Shri Modi’s demonetisation decision. Neither could Shri Narendra Modi was able to speak on the issue of demonetisation, nor could Congress vice president. The Opposition ought to have played a
constructive role. Voters must not opt for leaders who are irresponsible.

| If the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has to reclaim the ground that he and his party have lost over the years, he has to shun the irresponsible politics and conduct himself maturely. Unfortunately , there are little signs of his doing that. In the past too, had callously flung the suit – boot ki sarkar jibe at Shri Narendra Modi’s Government and had accused the regime of doing khoon ki dalali over the martyrdom of Indian soliers in the Uri terror attack. The first accusation fell through after the last Union Budge was presented, which offered empowerment and funds to the farming sector on an unprecedented scale. The second came a cropper with a nationwide support for the Government’s decision to order Surgical Strikes deep inside Pakistan – occupied Kashmir after the Uri incident , in which Pakistan based militants targeted an Indian Army installation. But unfortunately Rahul Gandhi apparently learnt no lesson. He has now threatened to expose the Prime Minister himself over acts of personal corruption on the bases of bulletproof evidence he claims to have. He says he has detailed information that when revealed could lead to a quake. Rahul Gandhi ought to make the evidence public or offer an unambiguous apology to not just the Prime Minister but also the people of the country whom he considers to be buffoons, easy enough to mislead through wild accusations. Legal Service should be Affordable
(Affordable Legal Service is Must, December 18); This has reference to the report titled ‘Affordable Legal Services is Must’ in the News Round-Up page of Organiser. I totally agree with the views of RSS Sarsanghachalak that legal
system should be affordable. It is true that the present ‘Justice Delivery System’ is plagued with ‘Hefty Lawyer Fees’ which arises from certain perceptions prevailing in public such as ‘Face Value and Senior Status of certain Advocates’; ‘Nature and audibility of the Benches’; ‘Exorbitant Fee means Highly Talented Advocate’, etc. It is also due to illiteracy and low level education of majority of people’; ‘Anxiety of the litigants to get favourable judicial orders by hook or crook’; ‘costly and elegant looking office infrastructure’; ‘Greed and lack of social consciousness on the part of majority of advocates’; ‘Growth of monopolistic tendencies in lawyer fraternity’; ‘Involvement of touts actively reaching out to distressed and gullible litigants’ and lastly ‘ Absence of check decades together on galloping black money hoarding and unbridled benami transactions’. Courts of equity have become inaccessible to rural and semi urban population. Depending upon size and topography of each State more and more Benches of High Court should be established. Similarly, five benches of either ‘National Courts of Appeal’ or ‘Supreme Court’ should be established in Northern, Eastern, Western, Southern and Central regions of India. This will create equitable distribution of litigations
leading to growth of localised and domiciled advocacy rendering expeditious justice at affordable cost. RSS should come forward to establish National Legal Aid Trust with head quarters in Delhi and branch offices in the State capitals, the District Head Quarters and the Taluk head quarters inviting perennial honorary service of legal professionals having social consciousness.

Eid-e-Milad Celebrations
This refers to the recent clashes between Hindus and Muslims at Gangavati, Koppal District of Karnataka. It is
unfortunate that even after seven decades of our country’s Independence our republic is not yet settled. The clashes occurred on the day of Eid-e-Milad which coincided with the Hindu festival ‘Hanuman Jayanti’. We wish to ask that, why Muslims are celebrating ‘Eid-e-Milad’ which happens to be the birthday of Mohammad the prophet, who himself had told that his birthday should not be celebrated. It is clear that our Indian Muslims are no less communal than any other Muslims of the world. It is also very much clear that Muslims here in our country deliberately celebrate this festival to create unrest and exert their pressure on Hindus.

Condemnable Statement
As is his nature, Asaduddin Owaisi Chief of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party (AIMIM) has made a condemnable statement that ATMs in Muslim areas are neglected and are having less cash and thus Muslims are not able to take out money from the ATMs. Government has refuted the charge stating that there is no such
discrimination and that ATMs don’t disburse the cash after seeing the religion of the person. Queues are not only in Muslim areas but also in non- Muslim dominated areas. So where is the discrimination? It is high time that Asaduddin stops his religious tantrums. He should remember that his DNA and that of other Indians are same. We all are from same origin. It’s a historical aberration that some of our people converted to other religions due to social, religious and economic causes and due to coercion and inducements by Muslim rulers and religious leaders. Actually, most of Indian Muslims or Christians have not come from outside. They all are sons of the soil.

Statistical Jugglery
Education which is fundamental to human progress plays an important role for the all round development of an
individual as well as society. However India’s system is inequitable and does not provide equal opportunities for all children. On the one hand more and more institutes are being set up with sprawling campuses, air conditioned classrooms, every classroom fitted with dozen fans and lights and lots of toilets in every floor. On the other hand in some parts of the country school
buildings are non – existent, there is no toilet or electricity facility, there is lack of qualified teachers and study material is not up to date.
Though we claim that we are near the goal of ensuring right to education for all, it will just be statistical jugglery if we don’t have reforms which ensure good infrastructure facilities in the schools.
