Neti Neti (na + Iti, meaning ‘not so’) is a popular expression in the Hindu philosophy, especially in Jnana Yoga to understand what Brahman (supreme power) is. To establish ‘what is’, ‘what is not’ is thoroughly explained. To negate the rationalised explanation of matter and to experience the real self this method is used. Unfortunately, some people blindly use the method to deny the constant factor, called change. They also counter the threads of continuity. Some sections of intellectuals rooted in non-Bharatiya conception of Bharat are resorting to do the same, even at the cost of national loss. From raking up intolerance debate to defending the anti-national sloganeering, this mindset of negation is fighting the battle of existence.
That is why, when the Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was taking a strong resolve for exhaling organisational strength for social transformation, some groups were busy in demeaning the nationalist organisation. When the deliberations in the Amebedkar Pandal were focussing on harmonious living and consensus building on larger national issues, some elements of Jihadist-Communist alliance were planning for attacks on the RSS workers in Mysuru and Kattayikkonam of Kerala.
Bharat is passing through a phase of transition. The trend of national resurgence is being experienced by everyone. Simultaneously, the forces engulfed in selfish motives are relegating to the periphery. As the cultural power of Bharat is being recognised all over the world, the political isms survived on negating this culture are becoming irrelevant. The obvious reaction is the emergence of blatant opportunistic alliances to prevent any positive change. After facing murderous history of more than three decades, the Congress is happy in aligning with the Communists in West Bengal. Tolerance brigade go silent on the issue of violent spree against RSS workers in Kerala. The proponents of freedom of expression do not find it necessary to stand against the onslaught on a newspaper in Kerala who carried just a news item on the issue of polygamy. They are not ashamed of taking open anti-national or seditious stand as part of this sinister attempt.
In such scenario, the RSS and the swayamsevaks are the obvious target. All variants of political spectrum, ranging from Rahul Gandhi to Owaisi, are using the RSS as a punching bag to save their spaces. This strategy does not only to negate the fact that a swayamsevak is at the helm of national affairs but also refute the overwhelming acceptance of the Bharatiya idea of Bharat. They are negating not just change of government but also the contours changed due to that.
As there seems to be a grand strategy to deplore integrationist idea of Bharat, there is greater need for positive resolve for constructive transformation. We should have firm faith in our capacity to survive and thrive.which is unique to our civilisational values. Determination for social harmony and coordination for transferring the fruits of development to all sections of society is the need of the hour. We should come out of the mindset of negation. We need to comprehend the dangers of divisionists. At the same time, Our frame of mind should resolve to address the issues of discrimination and exploitation fearlessly but with patient conviction. Not reacting to any provocation, still displaying the strength for deterrence is the best way out.
The resonance of Pratinidhi Sabha calling for dedicating our energies to the organisation of society and practicing of inherent values should percolate in all walks of life. This is the only prudent way to realise the dream of powerful, prosperous and peaceful Bharat. If we continue marching on our time tested path, the poisonous seeds of division will weed out themselves and will accept ‘sah Iti’ (This is so).
