This refers to the Prime Minister’s comment that Ayurveda is globally relevant. The Government has increased spending money on research in this field but needs to do more to make up for the lack of equipment and experts. Also Ayurveda is gaining popularity in the west. For example, Curcumin from turmeric and Testofen from Fenugreek are commonly used nutritional supplements. Like yoga, the market value of Ayurveda is growing.

Agitation & Anguish

( Organiser, 6.3.2016); This refers to the front page story in Organiser titled ‘Agitation & Anguish’ by Dr Chandra Trikha.I feel that there is something intriguing about pro-reservation movements, often turning violent, in Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. In all the three states, the Congress is in the Opposition and the BJP in power. It is more than apparent that the Congress instigates Jats in Haryana, Gujars in Rajasthan and Patels in Gujarat.

Refining Rituals

(Organiser,14.2.2016); It was very interesting to go through the article  “Refining Rituals” by Jyotirmaya in Organiser. We need to bring back the glories of our Vedic period in rituals and worship. There is complete freedom in Hinduism and it is open to reforms, logic and rationalism.  It is in-built in Hinduism to ask rational questions, and nothing is acceptable unless one is intellectually convinced. No one can give any commandment to fellow being nor anyone can issue fatwa which has to be obeyed blindly. Hinduism is not a missionary based religion, but it is definitely more secular in its approach and open to views and logics. In Hinduism Ardhanarishvara is the basic concept, where men and women play an equal role in the society and no ritual is complete without women participating in it.

Protect cow to save the nation: Shankarla

(Organiser 6.3.2015); Apropos to the news report in the News Round-Up page in Organiser titled ‘Protect cow to save the nation:S hankarla’. Here I would like to add that one ‘Vishwa Gouraksha Mahasant Sammelan’  was held at ‘Bhagawat Vidyapeet’, Ahmadabad from 7th-11th February 2016,which was attended by  Sadhu, Sants, Swamijis, Mahamandaleshwars  for promotion of ‘Cow-Protection’. It is unfortunate that although  seers spoke on various issues such as Politics, Epics, Mythology, Hindu-Muslim unity, Freedom Struggle etc., but none of them spoke on the ‘Economical Status of the cow’ the very purpose for which the congregation  was held.  I feel pity and doubt whether these seers really know the means and methods to take enough measures to protect the cows? Everybody should understand and know that until and unless the “Economical Status” of the cow is dealt and a farmer is facilitated with various provisions, concessions and facilities in order to enable him to sustain cows economically and stop him disposing the cows after their completion of milk giving phase, nothing positive is going to happen towards ‘Cow-Protection’.

Organiser,  31.1.2016

(Organiser, 31.1.2016); This refers to the editorial ‘Let Ideas be Disruptive, not Destructive’ and two articles ‘Politics, Protest or Probe’ by N Nagaraja Rao and ‘Virulent Politics of Caste Hatred’ by Aravindan Neelakandan in Organiser. Clearly, Ambedkar Students Association(ASA) and Prof. KanchaIlaiah are indulging in anti-Hindu and anti-national activities and political leaders and parties like the Congress, Communists, Kejriwals, Mamatas and poisonous Muslims like Asaduddin Owaisi. All this conspiracy in the name of Dr B R Ambedkar, amounts to insulting that great nationalist leader. These students of ASA offered Namaz-e-Janaza for the Muslim terrorists and arranged beef party, but they don’t know that Dr Ambedkar used to expose and bitterly criticise Muslim community for their crimes and cruelties against Hindus and Sikhs. He has given details of killings and crimes by the Muslims from page 153 to 176 in his book Pakistan or the Partition of India and blamed Gandhi for this. He has written that Gandhi never called Muslims to account even when they were proved guilty of gross crimes against the Hindus.

Playing with Fire

(Organiser, 24.1.2016); This refers to the cover story in Organiser titled ‘Playing with Fire’ by Nirendra Dev. The violence in Malda and the deteriorating law and order situation across West Bengal shows that minority appeasement in West Bengal has gone beyond control. Some day just like  Kashmiri Pandits were hunted out of Kashmir, Bengali Hindus will also have to flee their homeland. I would say that even after the incident in Kaliachak, if people don’t bring the BJP to power in West Bengal, then who is to be blamed? The people or the party? Mamata Banerjee has done a great disservice by dividing the State on communal lines. She and her party will face the wrath of the aam aadmi through the ballot.

Dissecting the Attack

( Organiser, 17.1.2016 ); Apropos to the article ‘Dissecting the Attack’ by Nitin A Gokhale in Organiser. Masood Azhar’s Jaish-e-Mohammed is far more important for the Pakistani Government than the peace dialogue with Bharat. Investigation into the Pathankot attack will meet the same fate as that of 26/11 case. Notably when Bharat was attacked in 2008, the Big Powers pressurised Bharat to show restraint, but when these countries themselves came under threat—be it the US after 9/11 or France after the 2015 Paris attack—they went on the offensive.

Rajnath Singh reaches out to Minority Community

Given that BJP’s critics often seek to tarnish the image of BJP as anti-Muslim Party, Union Minister for home Affairs Rajnath Singh has done well to reach out to the minority community leaders to counter the growing threat of the Islamic State terror group. We all know the modus operandi of such terror groups and how they mislead the youth specially after the recent threat from terrorist Hafiz Saeed that Bharat will be facing more Pathankot—like attacks, the NDA Government’s proactive approach is all the more important. Also Muslim clerics need to understand that issuing a fatwa against the Islamic State will not work anymore.Instead , they need to show young Muslims that there is no dearth of education and growth opportunities for the community in this country. And if youngsters move in the right and positive direction, they will surely do well.
