Bringing back old Glory
After a long gap of 16 years, Indian Men’s Hockey team won gold medal by defeating traditional rival and defending champion Pakistan by 4-2 in the finals.
The last time India won gold medal was at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok. With this victory Indian Men’s Hockey team ensured its place in 2016 Rio Olympics. All credit goes to Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh for breathtaking saves in the shoot-off and assuring India’s historic win.
Golden punch of Mary Kom

Five time World champion and Olympic medalist MC Mary Kom added another feather to her cap by becoming the first Indian boxer to clinch a gold medal in the Asian Games.
Gold in wrestling after a long wait
London Olympic bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt ended a 28-year gold drought for India in wrestling. This is India”s first Asian Games wrestling gold after 1986 when Kartar Singh won it in Seoul.
Gold in both categories

Defending champions India staged a late comeback to edge Iran 27-25 in the Men”s kabaddi final to retain their gold medal. With the Men’s triumph, Indian Women”s kabaddi team also won the gold medal for the second consecutive time. With gold medals in Hockey, Boxing and Kabaddi, India jumped to 8th position (as on October 3, 2014) with a total haul of 11 gold, 9 silver and 37 bronze. But India has not crossed its performance of 65 medals in Guanzhou 2010.               -Nishant Kumar Azad ?
