(Organiser, 137.2014); These are responses from readers on editorial ‘Defence Procurement for Self- reliance’ in Organiser.
Rapid Indigenous development technology should be our aim .We all know that Yantra Sarvaswam of Bhardwaj Muni had a detailed part on aeronautics. Based on the technological details given in this and other Sanskrit books one Talpade developed a aero plane and test flghted it on Chaupati, Mumbai in 1895 ,full eight years prior to Right Bros.Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad of Baroda was a witness to the event and its report was published in Lokmanya Tilak's Kesari. But Talpadeji soon died. And the project could not progress. Vaimaniki of Bhardwaj Muni had described eight types of aeroplanes. The one test lighted by Talpade was powered by Mercury. Now in 2010 NASA has given a several billion $ assignment to Boeing Co. to develop an engine that can be run by mercury. They got the cue from Yantra Sarvaswam itself which was supplied by some over enthusiastic Indian to his American colleague at NASA. Why can't we do some research in ancient Sanskrit treatises to explore scientific knowledge there?

India must insist on complete transfer of technology from the French company or put this deal on standby, if French company refuses to comply with our demands. India at the same time must invite fresh bid for the fighter jets from other manufacturers, though suppliers are limited. India must also re- look at the Russian technology that is short of funding. It will be naive of us to think that defence suppliers will easily transfer the technology. Suzuki, a Japanese car company took years to make/transfer gear boxes in India. Similarly, Siemens which has installed conveyor belts at IGI Airport has not transferred technology to India or Indian company. India must follow the path of self reliance in defence technology. India has done it with Cryo engines, when US refused to give technology to us and also prevented Russia. The successful launch of Chandaryaan and Mangalyaan is enough to prove that India has the expertise to be self reliant in developing defence technology. Only will is required.

Muslim Women Recite Sri Hanuman Chalisa

$img_title(Organiser, 22.6.2014); This refers to the article ‘Muslim Women Recite Sri Hanuman Chalisa’ in Organiser. Even if we presume that these Muslim women did so sincerely ,they are not going to be accepted as ‘ True Muslim’by vast majority of the Muslims and their mullahs and maulavis would call them kafirs. Also question arises as to why such respect for Hindu gods and temples is not shown in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Muslim majority pockets in India? Teachings of Islam would never allow it.Therefore this drama of Muslim women and its publicity is meant only to befool the Hindus and to hide the true nature of Muslims. It is certainly not in the interest of Hindu India. We can see in the whole world that even Shia and Sunni Muslims are thirsty of each others blood although both have Quran and Mohammed as common source, but both treat each other as kafirs. How they can tolerate Hindus , who are treated as true kafirs.

Fatwa only an opinion

$img_title(Organiser,20.7.2014); Apropos to the news report ‘Fatwa only an opinion’ by Shri Surendra Singhal in Organiser. The SC’s landmark judgment declaring that the Sharia Law and courts have no legal status and that fatwas or religious decrees that infringe on an individual’s Fundamental Rights are illegal, is bold and praise worthy .While the judgment will no doubt intensify the debate – whether secular legal systems can coexist with Quranic sanctions—parallel courts meting out punishment to innocents through illegal decrees have no place in a democracy.
