Cover Story Related : What will the SP do to Akhilesh's hands
The people of Benaras reacted strongly over the mischief done by Congress and Samajwadi Party workers, who on April 24 washed the statue of BHU founder Mahamana Madanmohan Malaviya with gangajal and milk. Some asked the SP workers as what they would do to the hands of Akhilesh Yadav which have been shaken with Modi many times. “It symbolises the dirt that they (SP and Congress workers) have in their mind. No power can stop Modi now. All these childish acts are only generating support for Modi. I live here for five decades and have seen the similar crowed during Jaiprakash Narayan’s road show in 1977,” said Chandrabhan Maurya, who runs a grocery shop near BHU Gate for the last many decades. Shri Balram Jaiswal, who runs a medical store just opposite BHU gate ridicules the hypocrisy of SP workers saying, “They can clean the statues here but what will they do to the hands of their leader Akhilesh Yadav who frequently shakes hands with Modi.”
