undefinedNOTED Jain Sadhvi, Tapasvi Ratna Sadhvi Hanskirtishree, achieved a historic milestone in 2,500 years history of Bhagwan Mahavir era by completing 100+100+99 “Vardhaman Tap Aayambil Oil (VTAO)”. She started her journey of 100th VTAO for third time at Vadhwan City under Surendranagar in Gujarat on September 11, 2013 and will complete it on December 22 at Sankheshwar Tirth, Gujarat.
Sadhvi Hanskirtishree in her ascetic life of 56 year, will complete 15,050 aaymbil and 300 upavaas, which, if done continuously without any break, takes more than 43 years to achieve this milestone. She will be the first individual to achieve this milestone in 2,359 years of Bhagwan Mahavir Era.
Aayambil is a type of Jain fasting where one is allowed to eat only boiled or roasted food, once in a day time, sitting at one place. One can only eat boiled, steamed or roasted items made from grains, pulses and salt, pepper for taste. One is not allowed to eat fresh fruits, vegetables, sweets, spices, oil, ghee, milk, dairy or bakery products etc. One can drink boiled (cooled) water as much as one wants after sunrise and before sunset.
Upavasa is a type of Jain fasting where one is not allowed to eat anything for 36 hours continuously from 1st day sunset to 3rd day sunrise (2 nights and 1 day) where one is allowed to drink boiled water, sitting at one place, as much as you want in day time.
100 Vardhaman Tap Aaymbil Oil (VTAO) is a series of fasting where one has to start with 1 Aayambil + 1 Upavaas, 2 Aayambil + 1 Upavaas, 3 Aayambil  1 Upavaas …keep on increasing Aayambil… till you reach 100 Aayambil _ 1 Upavaas. When you complete 100 Aayambil Oil then one has completed 5,050 Aayambil + 100 Upavaas. It takes nearly 14 years 3 months and 20 days to complete this milestone, if done continuously without any break… which Tapasavi Ratna Sadhvi will be completing 3rd time in her life… Increditable achievement!
