National seminar on Philosophy of Integral Humanism in the life of Swami Vivekananda in Chitrakoot
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya a national seminar on ‘Philosophy of Integral Humanism in the Life of Swami Vivekanand’ was organised at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shodh Sansthan in Chitrakoot on September 25. Many eminent personalities including former BJP president Shri Nitin Gadkari, Swami Varishtanand from Ramakrishna Mission, Maulana Jakwan Nadvi and Dr Crafard Grey attended the seminar. About 1,530 delegates representing 635 villages of six states participated in the seminar.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Nitin Gadkari said when the people would develop themselves with the philosophy of integral humanism in their heart, the nation, society and the family would move towards the peak of development. He said encouraging youth to go for innovations is necessary for prosperity and development of the country. He appealed to all to shun the difference between preaching and doing.
Noted ideologue Dr Mahesh Chandra Sharma said: “Every message given by Swami Vivekananda must be researched and its teachings should be adopted by everyone in life. This would make the nation great. If youth study Swamiji and his philosophy only then the purpose of attending such a seminar will be fulfilled to create a sense of giving something positive to the world.”
Maulana Jakvan Naqvi, while citing various inspirational happenings related to life of Swami Vivekananda tried to convey the message of patriotism and said that one should become part of society that have equal respect for poor, women and the nation.
Swami Varisthanand emphasised character development in spite of working on other things. He said people should live their life without having the concept of hate in their mind and heart. We should serve the society especially the deprived ones.
Vice president of DRI Shri Shankar Prashad Tamrakar, principal secretary Shri Bharat Pathak, organising secretary Shri Abhay Mahajan, Udhmita Vidyapeeth Director Dr Nandita Pathak and many others scholars also spoke on the occasion.
General body meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh
The general body meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh has demanded the UPA Government to withdraw the order allowing foreign universities to set-up their campuses in India and also to open the education sector for corporate houses. The Mahasangh termed this decision of the Government as disrespect to the Indian Parliament, educationists and people of the country but also a conspiracy to push the education sector into a doldrums. The Mahasangh suggested the Government to consult the MPs, educationists and the society in general before framing any policy for education sector. In a resolution adopted at the meeting the Mahasangh said this decision of the Government would prove disastrous for the entire nation.
In another resolution, the Mahasangh urged the the Central and the State governments to teach eternal values of Hinduism in schools and colleges to curb the degradation appearing every where today. The Mahasangh also stressed the need to ensure effectiveness, transparency in the management of mid-day meal scheme.
The meeting was organised at Dattopant Thengadi Auditorium in Nagpur on September 29. The national executive meeting of the Mahasangh was organised on September 28, in which 81 delegates from 18 states participated. Prior to it, the national executive meeting of Madhyamik Shiksha Sanvarg was held on September 27.
RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat expressed condolence to the victims of recent jehadi attack in Nairobi which claimed the lives of many innocent people including many Indians. “We were deeply shocked and apprehensive when we heard the news of the Nairobi carnage. The updates received unfortunately confirm our worst fears. While we condemn the dastardly attack on the innocents we pay our heartfelt condolences to all the families of the victims. We also laud the courage and the unity of the citizens of Nairobi, the dedication and service of all including our workers presently engaged in relief and the promptness in action by the Kenyan Government and officials. Please convey my personal condolences to families of affected swayamsevaks and sevikas. Though an ocean apart from you all, we are with you together to face the challenge squarely and with all it takes,” Shri Bhagwat said. RSS Vishwa Vibhag convener Shri Saumitra Gokhale also condoled the families of the victims. He termed the attack as very shocking and tragic.
Vidya Bharati’s 26 National Sports Meet to begin in Bokaro on November 18
The 26th National Sports Meet of the Vidya Bharati will be organised in Bokaro from November 18 to 22. About 1,000 sports persons from across the country are expected to participate in the event. Vidya Bharati has divided the entire country into 11 zones and only the selected sports persons from these zones will take part in the event. The preparations for the event are in full swing.
Blood donation camp on birthday of Shri Ashok Singhal
VHP workers in Delhi organised a blood donation and health check-up camp on October 1 to celebrate birth anniversary of veteran VHP leader Shri Ashok Singhal. The camp was organised in association with the Indraprastha Yogeksham Sewa Nyas and the Rotary Club Tughlakabad. Noted industrialist and social worker Shri Rikhab Chand Jain presided over the function.
Hindu Manch protests against soft stand on Pak
Hindu Manch Delhi organised a demonstration on September 28 against the soft policy of the Government of India towards infiltration of terrorists by Pakistan. Shri Anil Tripathi apprised the protestors of the threats from Pakistan and said the entire nation should be alert against the designs of the enemy nation. Shri Brijmohan Sethi, vice president of VHP Delhi, also spoke on the occasion. After the protest a memorandum was presented to President of India, Prime Minister and Defence Minister.
Intellectual Meet in Shimoga on 150th birth anniversary of Vivekananda
To commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, an intellectual meet was held in Shimoga on September 29. Senior RSS Pracharak Shri Na Krishnappa, director of Distance Education of Kuvempu University Dr Venkateshwarulu, industrialist and member of Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary State Committee Shri HV Subramanya, Shri Diwakar Hegade, Udupi SDM Ayurvedic College Professor Dr Jayakrishna Nayak and many others addressed the gathering on the occasion.
VHP’s tribute to Padma Bhushan Satyanarayan Goenka
VHP patron Shri Ashok Singhal, on October 1, sent a condolence message to Vipassanacharyaa Smt. Elaichidevi on the demise of her life partner Vipassanacharya Padma Bhushan Satyanarayan Goenka, who passed away in Mumbai on September 29. He was 90. In his tribute, Shri Singhal said he had the privilege and opportunity of knowing and being blessed by Goenkaji during many decades of his movement for propagation of Vipassana Meditation Technique in Bharat and around the world from his Dhamma Giri headquarters in Maharashtra. Shri Singhal said Goenkaji was a great teacher of the pragmatic method of Vipassana meditation for purification of mind as was taught by the Buddha, as a matter-of-fact the most important aspect of Dhamma—the Universal Law of Nature. He was a scholar of the Buddhist tradition and endeared himself to lakhs of Vipassana Sadhaks and admirers through his wisdom and compassion. “The Vishva Hindu Parishad’s movements for national security, national prosperity and national self-esteem had always had his blessings,” he said.
