UP under SP becoming a lawless State

THE Union Minister for Coal Shreeprakash Jaiswal showed his concern over deteriorating law and order condition in the State. He said that State government should take some strong measures to restore sense of security amongst the masses. “Several communal clashes in just a short span of time of Samajwadi Party’s rule is a reflector of measures taken by the State Government”, added Shreeprakash demanding urgent need of some strong action to tackle the situation”.

UP Government is busy showering sops upon Muslims, while the State is gripped with violence and crime. In one instance the Samajwadi Party activists misbehaved with the cops just to celebrate home-coming of Haji Ikram Qureshi, a senior SP leader from Moradabad, who was given minister of State status by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, after appointing him as Chairman of Essential Commodities Corporation. Throwing of currency notes all through the route to welcome Qureshi in Moradabad and later removal of caps from heads of some policemen deployed on duty by Party activists both clearly reflects the attitude of the Samajwadi Party leaders.

According to another report, a rape victim and her family members in Balrampur are under threat from the SP MLA and his kins.
In Amroha, the brother of a State minister ransacked a police outpost and manhandled a sub-inspector, who tried to stop his goons from cutting green trees. The Amroha police initially tried to save the minister’s kin and instead of taking action against the accused, registered a case against the sub-inspector.  According to reports, some companions of Jamal Akhtar, who is brother of Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Kamal Akhtar, were cutting green trees around a tube-well on Jal Nigam’s land in Dhabarasi hamlet of Hassanpur area of Amroha. When the local residents lodged a complaint about it with the police, the outpost incharge and Jal Nigam junior engineer reached the spot and stopped them from cutting the trees. Jamal Akhtar, reached the spot on getting a message that his men had been stopped from cutting trees.

On reaching the tube-well, Jamal Akhtar hurled abuses at the sub-inspector and junior engineer.  When the sub-inspector retaliated, Jamal Akhtar allegedly manhandled him in full public view and threatened him with dire consequences for daring to come in his way. Surprisingly, the senior officers danced to the tunes of the minister’s kin and got a case registered against the incharge of Dhabarasi police outpost.  However when the villagers demanded action against the minister’s brother and his cohorts. Fearing that the situation could go out of control, the senior officers got a cross-case registered to hush up the incident.

Sensational killing of noted Jyotishacharya Ramesh Tewari who was sprayed with bullets, while his brother was critically injured in a broad daylight shoot-out at Jaunpur was masterminded by some hard-core gang of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The manner in which two criminals reached the spot in police uniform, touched the feet of victim in presence of over two dozen persons and later opened fire on him with a carbine and semi-automatic pistol, reflects the State of affairs in UP.
A Dalit man in his fifties was alleged battered to death by cops inside Bindki police station in Fatehpur recently.
A police sub-inspector posted in Siddharthnagar has been accused of sexually exploiting a woman and her daughter for more than a year. The shameful conduct of the man in khaki came to light when the victim lodged a report with Siddharthnagar’s Superintendent of Police N Kolanchi, who got the allegation probed by Additional SP Ashok Kumar Verma. Later, on finding the allegations to be prima facie true, the SP suspended the sub-inspector and ordered registration of a case against him at Titri police station.

Surprisingly, one of the ministers in Akhilesh government has alleged that the administrative and police officers are surrounded by sycophants and middlemen and the State is in complete disarray. The State minister Rajendra Singh Rana has recently said that the law and order in the State is in a bad shape as the officials are hand-in-glove with the brokers and middlemen. The State BJP spokesman Rajendra Tiwari asked the Chief Minister to apprise  the people of the State that what are his views regarding the observation of the minister of his government.

The BJP spokesman alleged that one after the other the daring criminal incidents are taking place across the State and the government seems helpless. In its bid to achieve mission 2014 the State government is busy in pursuance of the appeasement for both criminals and a particular community, Tiwari alleged. “Ever since the SP has come to power the law and order kept on deteriorating and now it has gone out of control” he added.
