JANJATI Dharm Sanskriti Suraksha Manch has stated in a press release issued recently by its Secretary Shri Jaleswar Brahma that the State Government with an eye on Muslim vote bank has unleashed a reign of terror in the bleeding Bodo Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) by deploying over 20,000 security forces to arrest and frisk any member of the Bodo Territorial Council and every Bodo house in an around BTAD comprising Kokrajhar, Udalgudi, Chirang & Baksa districts without any valid documentary evidence and removing the security cover provided to the Executive Members (EMs) of BTC which they are entitled to.
Tarun Gogoi Government in Assam has created a war-like situation to stifle the voice of Bodo leaders and EMs who are opposing Tarun Gogoi’s intension to resettle the Bangladeshi nationals currently staying in BTAD relief camps. The Congressmen are reportedly behind generating the current clash with a view to create such a turbulent situation to use as a ploy for dissolving BTC and creating trouble for Bodo People’s Front (BPF).
Shri Brahma said that Tarun Gogoi and his cohorts prefer to ignore the demands of aggrieved Bodos. Instead of arresting the culprits and maintaining the law and order in BTAD, the Gogoi Government is trying to rehabilitate and re-settle the Bangladeshi Muslims under security cover provided by Army. Thus, Tarun Gogoi is misusing army (i) to resettle foreigner Muslims, (ii) for rampant arrest of innocent Bodo villagers and Bodo leaders and finally (iii) to gag the voice of Bodos by giving a clear signal of dissolving BTC and then (iv) bring back all the illegal Muslims with the help of ad-hoc body of BTC. Over a lakh illegal migrants from Bangladesh staying in various relief camps have suddenly vanished for the fear of being detected and deported or jailed.
The release demanded that the State Government must find out those illegal Muslims and punish these culprits under Foreigners Act and finally deport them to their country. Instead of doing this job, the State Government had imposed indefinite curfew in Kokrajhar to terrorize masses.
Janajati Dharma-Sanskriti Suraksha Manch strongly condemns the partisan behaviour of State Government in favour of Bangladeshi Muslims and hostile and vindictive actions against innocent Bodos in order to create panic among them on one hand and to appease Muslims on the other. The Manch urges State Government to honourably release all the innocent Bodo villagers and Bodo leaders and prevent Army and Para-military forces from moving village to village of Bodos and picking the youths and elderly persons of the Bodo families leaving behind the other members crying in the house for no fault of them. If State Government does not restrain from torturing the Bodos on the plea of recovering illegal arms, it is strongly apprehended that it may boomerang causing another bloodshed. And if it so happens, it is State Government, nobody else but State Government only shall be held responsible for the looming genocide.
It is surprising to notice that State Government is torturing and terrorizing Bodos whereas Muslim miscreants are freely moving with no fear of Army and Security Forces. This partisanship of Gogoi Government speaks a volume which Bodos in particular and non-Bodo citizens in general are required to understand and act swiftly and decisively to defend the people and protect the land.
Further, Janajati Dharm-Sanskriti Suraksha Manch demands immediate arrest of Badruddin Ajmal, President, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) for adding fuel to the fire by his rabidly communal and inflammatory speeches for arousing the passions of Bangladeshi Muslims and instigating them to act against Bodos. It is also demanded to investigate the foreign connections of Badruddin Ajmal and clip his wings before he creates another communal riot in BTAD and elsewhere in Assam. He is doing all these anti-national acts with a view to acquire Muslim vote bank which has, so far, been the monopoly of Congress.
The State Government and Central Government are urged further that no effort should be made to resettle Bangladeshi Muslims in BTAD and all the culprits who have sneaked into BTAD, must be punished and deported to their country without any foul play.
Shri Jaleswar Brahma opined that it was mandatory on the part of State Government and Central Government as well to keep a constant pervasive vigilance on Indian Mujahiddin (IM), ISI, SIMI and China Connections along with scores of Jehadi elements active in the area who were operating in BTAD through All Minority Students Union (AMSU) and All Bodoland Minority Students Union (ABMSU) reportedly. Also, no culprit has been punished heavily as yet giving rise to the perception that State Government under Tarun Gogoi is comatose and paralytic which does not act and when acts, it acts to torture Bodos and comfort the Bangladeshis. This is condemnable on any count and every count.
The Bodos in BTAD area have been usurped by alien invaders. They have encroached on BTAD land for some time and this encroachment does not make them a community with which the indigenous inhabitants — Bodos, can be coerced into a state of brotherhood and harmony. Tarun Gogoi & Co. demands that Bodo people should swear brotherhood even with alien invaders hell-bent on grabbing their land. This militates against the principle of natural justice.
The Manch apprehends that the irrational and unjust decision of State Government to settle aliens in BTAD areas will continue to cause justified resentment among the people and the inevitable outcome of this will be continued struggle against aliens who are being encouraged to settle in the BTAD merely because their votes are crucial for Congress party to win elections.
This is the worst possible violation of natural justice followed by an injunction from State Government to the people to treat their invaders as their brothers. Such a wicked demand by leaders of Gogoi government will certainly lead to a sustained strife and struggle against aliens. Bodos in and around BTAD are required to muster the might to foil the State sponsored conspiracy and protect their land from Muslim invaders.
Although the Assam Government is pointing fingers at the NDFB, it may be that they are not involved but may be the handiwork of a set of anti-Bharat Bangladeshi settlers. Janjati Dharm Sanskriti Suraksha Manch is just hinting on a possibility of mischief being the handiwork of Muslim invaders who are on a nefarious bid to outdo the sons of soil. The Manch demands that Army must operate in Muslims areas in BTAD to disarm the Jehadi elements for restoring peace and normalcy and cut off their relation with enemy country – Bangladesh. Simultaneously, the Army operation must stop in Bodo areas.
