Fifth national convention of Shaikshik Mahasangh in Bengaluru
“THE prime objective of education is all round development of a man. Being a teacher’s organisation, the prime objective of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh should not only be to fight for the causes of the teachers but should also to develop an education system which makes the nation solid and secure,” RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiayji Joshi said while speaking at a session of the fifth national convention of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh at Janaseva Vidyakendra in Channenahalli village near Bengaluru on October 28.
Bhaiayji stressed the need that the teachers should mould the new generation that it becomes the giver not the takers. At the inaugural session on October 26 state Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar urged the teachers to play an active role in devising an effective education policy which can cater to the needs of the students and the nation. Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri was also present. Delegates from different parts of the country attended the convention. Shri Kageri said he is worried of the ‘westernisation’ and ‘commercialisation’ of education.
The event also saw the release of five ABRSM publications – Jagrut, Naman, Vivek Yatra, Bharatiya Itihaas Vikrutikaran Ka Prayaas and Shikshak Samachar. ABRSM national president Shri Vimal Prasad Agarwal, Higher Education Council member Shri K Narahari were also present. The convention also adopted three resolutions on different topics.
