Why are the killers of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati still unpunished?

Fourth death anniversary of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was observed all over Odisha as ‘Balidan Diwas’ and various programmes were conducted to pay tribute to the departed saint who had dedicated his entire life for the upliftment of Vanvasis. A two-day Sant Sammelan and public shradhanjali programmes were organised at Phulbani.

A procession was taken out from Gandhi Smruti Kalyan Mandap to Coronation Ground where a shradhanjali meeting was organised. Speaking at the meeting the saints lambasted the State government for not arresting the culprits and conspirators behind the gruesome murder. “Four years have passed since the murder of Swamiji. But the Naveen Patnaik Odisha government is yet to nab the killers and the conspirators,” said State VHP general secretary Gouri Prasad Rath.

He said after the murder of Swami three VHP workers have also been murdered in Kandhamal district and nobody has been arrested so far in these cases. Central Secretary of VHP Shri Yugal Kishore, joint central secretary Dr Basant Rath many other leaders were also present on the occasion.
