undefinedRSS swayamsevaks under the banner of Sewa Bharati joined a rescue operation being conducted by police and fire force officials in Kothaangalam area of Kerala on August 22. They remained in the rescue operation non-stop for three days. The swayam-sevaks also helped in searching the dead body of a victim Nalini. The rescue operation began at around 8 o’ clock on August 22. The body was retrieved after a marathon and extensive search by the swayamsevaks from the pile of earth near her house.

Sewa Bharati activists stood in the forefront of the operations of digging up and clearing the place which was beyond recognition owing to the landslide. It was a herculean task to rescue those who were trapped, owing to heavy water leakages seeping in. The RSS workers worked as a team to channelise the water flow to other directions.

The Sewa Bharati workers came for the rescue operations from the places like Kothamangalam, Muvattupuzha, Perumbavoor, Thodupuzha and Vannpuram. The rescue operation was conducted under the supervision of Zilla Karyavah Shri NS Babu, Zilla Sewa Pramukh Shri PR Haridas, Zila Sharirik Pramukh Shri Pradeep and Karyavaha of Kothamangalam Zilla Shri PG Sajeevan.                (FOC)
