NEWS ROUND-UP-5

Youth Against Corruption (YAC) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a joint protest against corruption at Jantar Mantar. Demanding immediate resignation of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, issuing floating warrant against those having accounts in foreign banks and enacting stringent laws to curb rampant corruption in NGO and private sector, the YAC and ABVP activists protested in New Delhi on March 12.

The protest rally began from Deendayal Upadhyaya Marg and headed towards Jantar Mantar. The public has been continuously deceived by the Congress-led UPA government and the aggression in the students fraternity was visible. Addressing the activists at Jantar Mantar ABVP general secretary Umesh Dutt said the cancellation of 122 licences by Supreme Court makes it clear that there has been a serious malfunctioning in the allocation of 2G spectrum that incurred a loss of Rs 1.76 thousand crore. The worst thing is that the then Finance Minister P Chidambaram is not taking the responsibility.

National convener of YAC, Sunil Bansal attacked the corrupt UPA government for ignoring the plight of the common man and focused on issuing the floating warrant against those having accounts in foreign banks. ABVP national organising secretary Shri Sunil Ambekar and national secretary Shreerang Kulkarni were also present on the occasion.
