MAHARASHTRA Governor Shri K Sankaranarayanan presented the Sewa Bharat Award to Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmashthal Padma Bhushan Dr D Veerendra Hegde for his immense contribution to nation building through social service. The award was presented on the occasion of Silver Jubilee celebrations of Sewa Bharati in Mumbai on April 30.
Sewa Bharati is a social, cultural and charitable organisation serving the poor and needy people and providing free medical assistance and education for the last 25 years. President of Sewa Bharati Mumbai Shri Jaya K Shetty, president of Silver Jubilee Committee Shri B Vivek Shetty and other eminent persons were also present on the occasion. The Governor also felicitated eminent business leaders and social workers including Shri Sudhir V Shetty, Shri Shashikiran J Shetty, Shri Sushirkumar M, Dr Jayaram N Shetty, Dr Tonse Jayakrishna Shri A Shetty and Shri Kushal Hegde on this occasion.
