VHP president Shri Ashok will be honoured with fourth Dharmashree Award. The award is given annually to those who have rendered meritorious services in the fields of religious, social, and other sectors. Managing Trustee of the Dharmashree Foundation, Eshwaramangala, Shri Nanya Achuta Moodettaya announced it on May 2 in Puttur. Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Sri Ramchandrapura Math, Justice (retd.) Shri Rama Jois and noted writer Shri SL Bhyrappa have been honoured with the award in previous years.
The award will be presented at a three-day function being organised by the Brahmakalashotsava Samiti of the Foundation and Sri Anjaneya Bhakta Samiti, beginning on May 20, in connection with the consecration of the world’s tallest Panchamukhi idol of Lord Anjaneya at Eshwarra-mangala. The award will be conferred on May 22, in which Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji, and Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji will be present. Chief Minister Shri BS Yeddyurappa will preside over the function. Senior RSS leader Shri Jayadev will also be present.
