SHARING his view with Organiser, former State president PK Krishnadas says, the BJP has retained the position of 2005 local body polls winning approximately 600 seats. “While setbacks have taken place in Kozhikode, Wynad, Kannur and Kasargod, the BJP has gained in Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta. It has also won three seats in Kottayam Municipality. It is a mixed bag. The setback in our stronghold of Kasargod is due to the Congress – Marxist – League unholy nexus formed with the single purpose of defeating BJP. While CPM and Congress are pampering jehadis on the one side, on the other CPM is playing ‘Hindu Card’ to usurp the Hindu votes and BJP vote-bank.

“BJP victory in Thiruvananthapuram has created tremendous goodwill throughout the world, since national and State medias gave wide publicity to it. The united and systematic work of BJP and parivar organisations gave the election campaign, a new life in the capital. Our target should be Assembly entry in 2011,” he said.
