A high level delegation of the ABVP leaders under the leadership of ABVP national president Prof. Milind Marathe and general secretary Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma met Union HRD Minister Shri Kapil Sibal in New Delhi on July 14. The delegation discussed with Shri Sibal the commercialisation of education, foreign universities bill, student union elections, etc. When the ABVP raised the issue of higher fees the minister said there is no need to control the fees rather they would provide loans to the students. Agitated over this response the ABVP made it clear that it would intensify its fight against commercialisation of education. Apart from Prof. Marathe and Shri Sharma, the delegation also included national joint organising secretary Shri KN Raghunandan, national secretary Sreerang Kulkarni, national secretary Shri Umesh Dutt, DUSU vice president Kriti Vadhera, secretary of JNU unit Shri Vinit Chaturvedi and others.
