Mother is the pivot of society, protect family values

CULTURAL invasion is also a threat to India. If India has to collapse, then Indian family system must collapse. If India’s family system has to collapse, then the moral values and ethics that sustain the family must erode. If these values have to erode, then the mother/women members in the family-who imparts such values-must be corrupted, in all respects-morally, culturally, ethically etc. They must be made to feel and think that everything Western is good and everything that is Indian is bad. This is the diabolical design of the western forces and the strategy they have adopted to achive this design is by coining fashionable slogans like modernism, forward looking, broad mindedness, progressive outlook etc. Most of the TV serials also depict women as scheming and amoral. Women are persuaded, coaxed to feel proud of certain unnatural aspects such as lesbianism, live-in-relationship etc. This must be stopped at all cost if India’s family value system has to survive in order to see that India survives as India and not as a satellite country of the West.

So, the need of the hour is “…Bharat ki har ek maa Jeejabai bane, taaki desh ka har ek bachcha Chhatrapati Shivaji ban sake…” and hence the mantra of the moment is “…Matri Shakti Ko Jagao…Bharat Bachao…”

The two-day national security convention organised in Haridwar by Forum for Integrated National Security (FINS) from March 9 to 10 was a success. It is in this context that we are making these observations on ignoring family values in our society.

The threat to national security is hydra-headed. It is not only Pak-sponsored terrorism; Naxalism; economic subversion (pumping of fake currency) but also the cultural onslaught of Western countries, which is a very important dimension of the internal security and a threat to nation. We are of the firm conviction that cultural onslaught is a deep rooted conspiracy of the Western countries to destroy India by destroying Indian family value system. The strong pillar and mainstay of the Indian family is the mother. If the mother is corrupted in all respects-morally, ethically, physically, economically and culturally-then it is the beginning of the end of the value system that sustains the Indian family. If the Indian family system is destroyed, then it is the gradual beginning of the end of India itself. Unfortunately, the Indian women are fast falling prey to the conspiracy of the Western forces which are perpetrating this subtle agenda in the name of modernism. The age-old pernicious practices and habits in the male-dominated Indian society that confined women to kitchen are being used by the conspirators of the West to make the women come out of the confines by giving fashionable and deceptive slogans like women’s liberation, forward-looking, progressive-minded etc. But the entire idea of the conspirators is to corrupt the mother and the women members of the family and thereby erode the values and ethics that sustain the family eventually enable the family system to collapse.

It is the mother in the family who inculcates values, morals and ethics to children. Mother is the first teacher for the child. If such a mother is corrupted, then who will inculcate moral values and ethics? But it is the same mother who is being used by the Western forces to bring down the family value system in their diabolical design to ensure India’s collapse. No where in the world, the country is worshipped as Mother, except in India. Call it Mother India or Bharat Mata, it is all one and the same. The concept of motherhood originated in ancient Bharat and nowhere else.

So, if the family value system has to survive, then it is imperative and inevitable for the mother/women members of the family remain morally strong, ethically sound and culturally rooted but at the same time look forward and march ahead with the changing times. We agree and admit that this is a dicey issue as any attempt to talk of strong cultural moorings will be dubbed as obscurantist. Those who advocate modernism vehemently argue that the society must adapt itself to the changing times of the world.

We agree that the society is a living entity and any living entity has to change if it has to re-invent itself so as to remain vibrant and robust. But does change necessarily mean degradation of moral and ethical values? Should the change to modernism make people develop dislike, if not hate, towards everything that is ancient? Should change towards modernism cut the cultural roots? Should the change towards modernism make people forget ethics? Should the change towards modernism mean that the people should not feel proud of the past? The reply to all these questions is an Emphatic No.

The note written by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Muth is relevant here. In his celebrated and much sought-after treatise titled Eternal Values for a Changing Society, he argued that it is not necessarily for the people to develop anathema to ancient values and ethics that sustain the family and the society though the society needs to change with the times.

Perhaps, Swami Ranganathananda’s words need to be emphasised, articulated and amplified when the issue of cultural onslaught is taken up by FINS. We have been going round the schools and colleges in Bengaluru speaking to the students of class 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 (both boys and girls) as well as to their parents the need to remain vigilant to the changing circumstances. We hold the view that remaining culturally rooted does not mean backward-looking, dwelling in the past, being in time-warp, but an attempt to learn from history, the past mistakes, that led to our downfall, and a resolve not to repeat such mistakes. It is an attempt to draw inspiration from the heroic deeds and achievements of our heroes in all walks of life.
