Keshav Bal Pustakalaya recently conducted a general and cultural knowledge test in Varanasi and surrounding areas. A total of 4800 students belonging to 102 schools participated in the test. A total of 183 students were declared winners. A function was held at Nivedita Shiksha Sadan in Varanasi on January 17 to honour all these winners.
Presenting the certificates to the winners, former Union HRD Minister and veteran BJP leader Dr Murli Manohar Joshi said individual control on knowledge could be dangerous and getting socially-useful information patented is wrong. He said there has been the tradition of sharing the knowledge with maximum number of people in our culture. He said the Indian rishis dedicated all their knowledge for the welfare of the mankind.
Presiding over the function, Swami Avimukteshwaranand described the students as rising sun and said he just attended the function to salute the rising suns. Dr Harendra Kumar Rai said the Keshav Bal Pustakalaya was formed in 1999 and is spreading its wings.
