Resounding a warning to the nation the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat called for all-round preparedness to combat the threats to India’s security-both from outside the borders and what he called ‘home-grown’ terrorism.

Addressing his maiden Vijayadashami speech from the historic Reshambag grounds, Dr Bhagwat stressed on growing threats to country’s security internally and externally with special mention of China. China is trying to encircle India by establishing friendly ties with all our neighbouring countries, he said.

“We are not adequately prepared to neutralise the threat from China. It is necessary to make our borders with China and other countries more secure to frustrate their evil designs”, he said. Dr Bhagwat also underlined the need to put an effective curb on the infiltration from across the borders and to weed out the infiltrators who had already sneaked into our land by adopting the ‘three-D’ policy of detection, deletion and deportation.

The RSS Chief suggested a five-pronged strategy to combat and tackle the menace of terrorism and Maoism in the country. This included elimination of terrorists activities through simultaneous tough action by the government and the administration; strengthening the security forces by modernisation and empowerment; enhancing the capability of intelligence agencies; extensive training and awareness programme for the entire population on security of individual and society; and freeing the society from unemployment, exploitation and corruption.

The RSS Sarsanghachalak also stressed for evolving the model of development based on our own requirements and needs and not to copy the western model of development blindly and wantonly.

In his address, the chief guest, young spiritual guru Bhaiyyuji Maharaj urged the youths to be proud of motherland and contribute to the amelioration of the problems of the society.

Earlier, Bhaiyyuji Maharaj accompanied by Sarsanghachalak Dr Bhagwat, Vidarbha Prant Sah-Sanghachalak Shri Ram Harkare, Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghachalak Dr Dilipji Gupta and Mahanagar Sah-Sanghachalak Shri Laxmanrao Pardikar performed the Shastra poojan.

The swayamsevaks performed various physical demonstrations like vyayam yoga, yogasana, etc. The main attraction was the demonstration by the RSS band platoon.

This Vijayadashami was a unique one as far as Sangh was concerned. Exactly 84 years ago on the same date i.e. September 27, 1925, Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Nagpur with few of his close followers and friends. In 84 years the ideology of Hindutva, on which the Sangh is based, has spread not only across the length and breadth of Bharat but has crossed the borders to reach out to the Hindus staying in almost 80 countries of the world.

Addressing the swayam-sevaks on Vijayadashami day, famous Jain saint Tarun Sagarji Maharaj called for harbouring love for our motherland, traditions, culture, and values. This is our greatest treasure, he said.

He was addressing the RSS volunteers at the Reshambag grounds after a disciplined route march and physical demonstrations by the swayamsevaks. Large number of followers of Shri Tarun Sagarji Maharaj also attended the morning ceremony.

In his speech the Jain saint declared in most unequivocal and unambiguous terms that those who loved this land as their motherland, they are all, irrespective of their being Jains, Sikhs, Arya Samajists, or Buddhists, Hindus. Those who accept this land as their motherland, the culture as their own culture they are Hindus, he thundered.

The learned Jain saint said that he was more impressed by discipline and nationalism of the RSS. He said that the world gets influenced by Tarun Sagar but Taraun Sagar gets influenced by the RSS.

Taking clue from the chorus song Charaiveti, Charaiveti…. presented by the RSS volunteers, the Jain saint called upon the audience to understand their duty towards the country and society.

Stating that terrorism was the main problem today, he said that no great personality would arrive to solve this problem. The youth of the country would have to stand in unison to fight against this enemy of the nation. We must understand the spirit of Bharat. Though we don’t believe in terrorising any one, we must understand that we have to be prepared to face any eventuality. This is ahimsa of the Jain saints, he said.

In his short speech Sarsanghachalak Dr Bhagwat said that Saints and Sangh are the two sides of the same coin. We believed in implementing what we teach in our behaviour. He said that we must develop a mindset of overcoming the problems of the nation with our own strength and vision.

Earlier, the swayamsevaks took out a route-march and performed Sanghik vyayamyoga at the Reshambag grounds. The band platoon also performed eye-catching demonstration on this occasion. The Sarsanghachalak watched the route-march from the Reshambag Square.
