It is encouraging to see people coming together on one platform for betterment of the deprived people of society without expecting any return. This is what was seen on August 22 at FICCI auditorium in New Delhi. The occasion was a Kavi Sammelan organised for creating awareness and involving masses in the Ekal Vidyalaya movement. Noted Hindi poet Shri Gajendra Solanki conducted the Kavi Sammelan which also included renowned Hindi poets like Shri Hariom Pawar, Shri Rajesh Chetan, Dr Kuwar Bechain, Shri Arun Jaimini, Smt Anju Jain and Smt Ritu Goal.
Ekal Vidyalaya is a movement that has been started to educate the people who live in jungle. These are the people who struggle day and night for two-time meal. They don’t know about the urban or rural life. Under the Ekal Vidyalaya scheme, some persons are sent to the places where these Vanvasis live and they try to educate them to increase their living standard. Classes are held at the time when the children are free. The function was organised by Shri Shyam Gupt, founder of the Ekal Abhiyan. The depth of the thought and his dedication was clearly visible in his speech. Many businessmen, industrialists, politicians, poets and thinkers from all over Delhi were present on the occasion. The poets enlightened the audience by their poems while the business community contributed by announcing financial support to the Abhiyan.
