Oblivious to the recent setback to BJP in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections, 936 swayamsevaks drawn from various parts of the country have been currently undergoing the rigorous physical and ideological training at the regular third-year Sangh Shiksha Varga (RSS training camp) at Reshimbag since May 10, 2009. This month-long training camp began in the scorching summer heat of Nagpur is being attended by RSS volunteers between the age groups of 18 and 40. There are six swayamsevaks from Nepal and one from the United Kingdom.
Besides this, the RSS has organised 50 first-year training camps and 13 second-year training camps spreading over the entire country from April to July. In the first-year camp approximately 13-14 thousand swayamsevaks will undergo the training, while in the second-year camp 3-4000 will be participating, informed Dr Manmohan Vaidya, Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS on May 18 at a specially convened meet of mediapersons.
Giving more details of the attendance in the training camp Shri Madhav Vidwans, Madhya Bharat Kshetra Karyavah of RSS, who is also the Karyavah of the camp, said that the highest number of swayamsevaks belongs to 18 to 30 years. Similarly, the number of graduates is 440, the highest, which shows the academic level of the participants, he said.
The camp will be concluded on June 8, 2009 in the presence of Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. Former Judge of Supreme Court from Kerala Justice KT Thomas will be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.
