Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) demanded immediate ban on the appointment of Chinese workers in the ONGC project in Bokaro, Jharkhand. In a statement, issued in New Delhi on May 14, BMS national general secretary K Lakshma Reddy said in the ongoing project of ONGC at Bokaro, a private company is appointing Chinese workers in the security wing. “The global economic crisis has already rendered more than 20 lakh workers jobless in our country in the recent period. Under these circumstances giving employment to foreign workers would further aggravate the growing unemployment problem in India. Therefore, the BMS demands the central government to protect the interests of Indian workers and amend the relevant labour laws suitably,” said Shri Reddy.
