Noted Valmiki saint Baba Prakash Shah passed away at his Ashram in Gannaur in Haryana on March 16. He was given bhusamadhi in Gannaur on March 17. He was 65.
Born at Jandhan village near Panipat, Baba Prakash Shah remained dedicated to social harmony throughout his life. His objective was to eliminate the gap between the deprived and ordinary people of the society. He organised various functions to preach that the deprived people are also part of the greater Hindu society and they should not be kept away. He formed Bhagwan Valmiki Ashram in Gannaur and invited many leading saints of the country to strengthen social harmony. He organised a Samajik Samarasata Sammelan at his Ashram in 2007 where Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of Art of Living was the chief guest. That Sammelan left very positive impact on the society. He was founder of Bharatiya Valmiki Dhram Siddhant Samaj and patron of Satyaprakash Jagriti Mission. He was impressed with the activities of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and during the birth centenary year of Shri Guruji he participated in various activities. Wherever he visited, he applauded the Sangh activities.
