“M. Karunanidhi, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has defamed and outraged the name and fame of Lord Rama by using offensive words against him. Defaming Lord Rama means the entire nation is defamed. Hindu society will no more tolerate this. Karunanidhi will be dragged to the court of law and 200 saints will file criminal cases against him all over the country,? said Dr. Pravin Togadia, the international secretary general of VHP, while addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar. Dr. Togadia further said, ?The Tamil Nadu government is playing double standard. Karunanidhi has given the statement only for minority appeasement. He wants to buy Muslim votes through opposing Ram Sethu. He is like a chameleon who changes colour from time to time. Previously he named a district after the name of Lord Rama. Now he is doing dual politics. If he at all desires to argue on the existence of Lord Rama, he should first leave politics and go to the saints of Puri, Ayodhya and Kashi. Until he does so, he lacks his illegibility to put a question mark on Lord Rama.?
He also announced the VHP'scountry-wide agitation from September 27 to October 10. During this period massive demonstrations will be organised and puja of Lord Rama and Lord Shiva will be held in all villages, he informed. He had come there to attend a three-day-long Akhil Bharatiya Dharma Prachar Baithak of VHP at Puri. (FOC)
