The National Council and Central Steering Committee of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) that met in Patna from June 15 to 17, has decided to launch SEZ Land Protection Movement (LPM) from September 15 to October 15 at all those places where sanction for development of SEZ has been granted. People from adjoining villages, markets and Mandis will be moblised, sit in dharna, protest rallies and public meetings will be held. The Council has also decided to oppose the entry of large corporate into retail sector. Since most of the cases of farmers? suicides have taken place in Maharashtra, a farmers parliament will be convened in Yavatmal on October 27-28 in which farmers representatives from all over the country will be invited to wage a united struggle. A Farmers Declaration will also be released on the occasion. Some other programmes like national economic conference on October 5-6, Dattopant Thengadi memorial lecture on November 10 were also decided.  (Swadeshi Patrika)
