In the corner of the city of Pataliputra, there stood a beggar. He was loudly shouting. He was abusing the almighty God in filthy words.

Some passers-by considered him foolish and they ignored him. A few others pitied him considering him mad. A priest threatened the beggar with dire consequences if he did not stop his balderdash. However, the beggar was undeterred and raising his tone, he started hurling new vulgar abuses at the God.

After a while a sadhu happened to pass by that corner. He heard the abuses being uttered by the beggar.

The sadhu approached the beggar in all calmness. He smiled and asked the beggar, ?What is it that makes you abuse God the supreme??

The beggar replied, ?See the God has pushed me to this world without providing me any means. No money. No shelter. No clothes. No footwear. Its all a painful journey cast unto my lot for no fault of mine.?

The sadhu said, ?Alright, so your problem is you are a penniless.?

?Perfectly right. I am a pauper roaming on the length and breadth of the city for a morsel of food,? replied the beggar.

The sadhu said, ?You have two kidnies. You can manage with one. If you sell one of your kidnies, I will pay you rupees two lakh?hard cash, here and now.?

?Na na na. It is my vital organ. How you dare to ask me to part with it?,? the beggar replied.

The sadhu said, ?Be it so as it may. Perhaps two lakh is not a big amount, anyway. You sell one eye and one kidney. That will not disable you. If you sell one eye and one kidney, I will pay you rupees ten lakh.?

?No never?, the beggar said.

?Have still bigger amount. If you sell me one kidney, one eye, one hand, I will pay you not less than forty lakh,? said the sadhu.

?I will not part with these organs,? the beggar replied.

?Add one more limb viz. one foot. In that case I will pay you fifty lakh,? said the sadhu.

?Not acceptable,? said the beggar.

The sadhu then argued, ?My dear friend, your body is a property almost worth one crore of rupees. So you are a crorepati. Who has bestowed this huge property unto you? It is the Providence who has donated it to you. Even then, you are blaming and abusing Him. You are calling yourself a pauper. Can a crorepati call himself a pauper??

All the people around were hearing the sadhu'sargument.

The beggar was silenced. He felt a little ashamed too.

The sadhu then added ?the God in all His kindness kept ready a huge playground, called this world before giving you feet, beautiful flowers, butterflies, rainbows and what not before providing you a window called eyes. He created friends and relatives so that you may not feel alone in this world. He kept ready thousands of tasty fruits, tasty food items before supplying you the tongue. God has created a huge water purification permanent plant to convert salt water into sweet water. Before providing nose, He has kept ready variety of scents. Before providing you lungs, He has kept never-ending huge ocean of fresh air for you. Before providing a beak to a bird, He has created huge gardens with fruits clustered to each branch. Just keep quiet, introspect and count the gifts He has donated to us. The God, our father, is working day and night. He wants his sons and daughters too to make best use of their body and enjoy the charms of life.?

The words of sadhu left the beggar speechless. The beggar decided to work hard and get for himself a decent living.
