VHP President Shri Ashok Singhal has said that the reconstruction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya is expected to begin by April 2006. He was talking to mediapersons at Karsevakpuram in Ayodhya on October 10. He said a year-long sarvadev yajna was schedule to begin within the Panchkosi Parikarma, in which saints and Acharyas from all sects will participate. He said before the yajna, six Dharma Sansad would be held at six different places of the country.

The first Dharma Sansad will be held in Haridwar from December 13 to 14 and second will be held in Karnavati from January 21 to 22, 2006. The third Sansad will be held in Prayag from February 1 to 2 and the fourth will be held in Guwahati from February 11 to 12. The fifth and sixth Dharma Sansad will be held in Puri and Tirupati from February 18 to 19 and March 4 to 5, respectively. Before the Dharma Sansad the VHP's high-powered committee will meet in Haridwar on December 11 and also Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal meeting will be held on December 12. Shri Singhal said the saints would formulate an action plan to face the all-round attacks on Hindu society at the meeting.

Shri Singhal pointed out that a similar sarvadev yajna was performed in July 1992 on the premises of Shri Ramjanma-bhoomi in which saints and Achyaryas from all sects had participated. He said the yajna proved very fruitful. He said alongwith the sarvadev yajna Shri Ram Mahotsvas will also be held on a larger scale in remote areas of the country. Shri Singhal said political parties had completely failed to protect the interest of the majority Hindu community in the country. Before talking to mediapersons, Shri Singhal had a long discussion with Pejawar Swami Shri Vishweshtirtha Maharaj and also with Mahant Naritya Gopal Das, Chairman Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Trust. He also met Mahant Avaidyanath, chairman, Mandir Nirman Uchachadhikar Samiti.
