VHP saves 275 lives in Maharashtra

The VHP activists saved the lives of 275 people during the recent flood in Maharashtra. VHP activists rushed with help for flood victims in 53 villages and 100 bastis in 18 districts of the state. The volunteers distributed 136 tones of food grains, 540 relief kits containing food grains, sugar, tea, mats, blankets, stoves, kerosene, etc. Additionally, 12 truckloads of clothing and 1,59,000 food packets were also distributed. Fifty doctors in 54 medical camps, organised by VHP, treated over 32,000 flood-affected people. As part of the rehabilitation efforts, the VHP plans to build 90 houses in Kiradpada, 40 houses in Baapgaon and 10 houses in Umbarda in Kalyan. Similarly the relief activities were also carried out in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Raigad districts and in Western Maharashtra including Pandharpur, Kolhapur, Parbhani and Nanded.
