This is a small booklet by an inveterate traveller born in Bulgaria and who lived in Russia and Germany for a major part of his life. Inspired by Indian culture, he made several trips to India to explore the Indian civilisation.
The author calls the invaders of India, particularly the Punjab, as ?barbarians? and is highly critical of Mohammad of Ghaznavi, ?a Turk from Middle Asia, who moved the capital of his state in Ghazni. In the course of the next ten years his army undertook a series of ravaging military campaigns against India, turning her north-west provinces into piles of burning ashes and killing more than one hundred thousand people.? What pains him most is that ?the invaders forcefully imposed in the sacred land of the Vedas, a doubtful religion?Islam?standing in most cases far lower than Hinduism. In the next ten centuries, the former spread all over the country like an epidemic to such a degree that today it encompasses almost one-third of the population of the sub-continent and has turned into the greatest ever threat to the existence of the Indian civilisation.?
The subject matter of this booklet is the history of India, its destiny and the causes that brought her downfall in the last millennium. It is an attempt by a foreigner to analyse the circumstances that transformed a great people into a peripheral human formation from the Third World and threatened to be engulfed by the Muslim spirit any time in future.

The author asks, ?Why and what is secularism? Do Islam and Christianity follow secularism? What is the meaning of jehad in secular India?? He has held the successive Indian governments and political parties as co-conspirators in jehad.
Islam ki Manyataein aur Uddeshya (in Hindi; Rs 4.00) by Dr Krishna Vallabh Paliwal talks of the history of Islam, its period of advent and growth, its religious treatise, its different sects, beliefs, principles and objectives.
