Swami Rajrajeshwarashram, Shankaracharya of Sharada-peeth, recently rebuked the pseudo-secularists and said that declaration of Emergency in Nepal had become essential. He said that King Gyanendra took the right decision by declaring the Emergency. ?Nepal has been the target of Christian missionaries, Muslim fundamentalists and Maoists. It is the only Hindu nation in the world, which should be saved at any cost. Maoists are constantly threatening the integrity of Nepal. Their activities cannot be restrained because of their greed for vote-banks. Appeasement on the part of politicians has caused a great damage to Hindu culture in Nepal,? he said, while talking to mediapersons at Ramanand Ashram in Rishikesh recently. Swami Prakashanand was also present on the occasion.

He said that an international conspiracy was afoot to ruin Nepal through the Maoists and as such King Gyanendra had no other alternative, but to dismiss the Deuba government to save Nepal. The king took over the reins of administration to restore peace and effective democracy and to conduct parliamentary elections, said the Shankaracharya, adding that the people in Nepal were in favour of King Gyanendra'sdecision. ?An unnecessary hue and cry is being raised by politicians and the media in the name of democracy. If the activities of the Maoists are not suppressed by force in Nepal, it would affect the peace in Uttaranchal also. It is regretful that politicians are not trying to realise the serious effect of Maoism. Singling out Nepal for all round condemnation reflected the immature thinking of politicians,? he added.

The Shankaracharya said that democracy in India was in danger. ?Hindu dharmacharyas are being caught in the trap of conspiracy by the pseudo-secularists.
