The national convention of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, a reputed organisation of Indian litterateurs, was organised in Rajkote recently. Inaugurating the convention, noted Gujarati poet and Jnanpeeth award-winner, Shri Rajendra Shah, described spirituality as the Gangotri of entire Indian literature. He appealed to the litterateurs to strengthen cultural nationalism by basing their creative outputs on Indian ideology. The convention also adopted three resolutions rejecting the obscenity through television channels and other mediums of Indian media, distortion of education by Leftists-Congress combine and the move to delete the word ‘Sindh’ from the nation’s national anthem. Besides hundreds of noted litterateurs of the country, Dr Balwant Jaani, national president of the Parishad, senior Gujarati poet Shri Ramesh Bhai Parikh, Shri Jagdish Dave, Dr Dayakrishan ‘Vijay’ and Parishad’s organising secretary Shri Suryakrishan were also present on the occasion.
