In the winter session of Parliament, S. Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, in a reply to a question said that Doordarshan had spent nine hours over coverage of Congress president, Sonia Gandhi in the last eight months of the UPA government while sparing only two to three hours to cover Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and not more than one-and-a-half hours for reporting on the communists. After Indira darshan in the past, it looks like Doordarshan has now been converted into Sonia darshan.
