British shirtmaker major Savile Row has signed a major licencing deal with the Forbes Group of Mumbai, India'soldest company.

The deal will see Forbes open a network of Savile Row branded shops selling ?London-style? shirts, suits, and ties across India and much of the Middle East.

Savile Row, which has a manufacturing and design facility in Castledawson in Northern Ireland, secured the business with the help of the British High Commission in India and Invest Northern Ireland'sstrategic alliance team.

Savile Row'smanaging director, Jeffrey Doltis, said, ?Forbes would manufacture the garments in India to designs developed by the team at the Castledawson factory.?

The company has its main administration and sales operations in the centre of London.
