Strengthen nationalism, unite Hindus
From Ravindra Saini in Haridwar
?The proposed law to ban communal organisations by the Central Government is being brought with political interests. Before taking any such step the government should defined the word communal,? said Shri Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah of RSS while talking to mediapersons at the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Meeting in Haridwar on November 6, 2004. He asked the government to end subsidy to Haj pilgrims and use the amount to curb the rising prices of cooking gas.
Earlier RSS Sarsanghchalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan inaugurated the Karyakari Mandal meeting at Rajju Bhaiya Parisar on November 5 by lighting the traditional lamp before the picture of Bharatmata.
Elaborating on the discussions held in the meeting, RSS spokesman Shri Ram Madhav said that eminent delegates expressed their views on the grave dangers confronting the nation. In the meeting, details of the relief operations carried out by the RSS Swayamsevaks during the recent floods in Bihar and Assam were given. Nearly 2,000 workers of the Sangh in north Bihar saved the lives of the flood victims and protected their property continuously for 25 days. In the course of rescue operation, one Swayamsevak lost his life. Now, for the rehabilitation of the victims, 250 houses are proposed to be built by the Sangh. Likewise, in Assam also, Sangh Swayamsevaks rendered relief activities to four lakh people in 1,500 villages besides providing financial help worth Rs one crore. Nearly 300 delegates including BJP president, Shri L.K. Advani, former BJP president, Venkaiah Naidu attended the meeting.
Commenting on the recent statement of Union HRD Minister, Arjun Singh, Shri Ram Madhav said that Shri Arjun Singh was afraid of the Sangh to such an extent that he dreamt of the Sangh in his sleep. He advised Arjun Singh to think of the nation. Shri Ram Madhav described Arjun Singh as one of the infamous persons who was a member of the coterie of Smt. Indira Gandhi who had imposed the emergency.
Referring to the proposal of the Central Government regarding imposing the ban on the nationalist organisation like RSS in the name of communalism, he thundered that an appropriate answer would be given at the right moment. Shri Madhav further said that Arjun Singh himself knew the consequences of taking such a disastrous step.
