Able Standards?Not illegal but Stupid? (The Statesman, May 29/30, 2000) we had described the RSS as ?the organisation that killed Gandhi?.

It was incorrect and unsupported by both facts and record.

We express regret for the publication and apologise unconditionally for the anguish and mental torture caused to the members of the organisation.

This apology follows in the case, Darshan Lal Jain vs C.R. Irani and others in the court of Mr Atul Murya, Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Jagadhari (Haryana) in which the complaint was being represented by Mr Pradeep Garg, advocate.
