Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram has played a key role in protecting and preserving the Khasi culture and their distinctive style of worship. ?It is this organisation that has brought so many of our people into the mainstream and has been infusing self-confidence in the society,? said Nayan R. Rinochhmo Suige, joint secretary of Kalyan Ashram, gave a brief account of the Kalyan Ashram activities. Prominent industrialists of Shilong, Om Prakash Aggarwal and Vimal Bajaj who attended the function as special guests, happily promised their cooperation in the Kalyan Ashram work. Senior Kalyan Ashram leader Gajanan Bapat was also present at the function. Presiding over the function Robin Kurbah, senior leader of Meghalaya, gave details of various programmes being run by the Kalyan Ashram for the welfare of the Vanvasis.
