Sangh Samachar Bhaurao Deoras Seva Samman to Usha Tai and Niranjana Behan

Usha Tai Chati, Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti and Niranjana Behan Mukulbhai Kalarthi, member/trustee of Shri Sardar Kanya Vidyalaya Swaraj Ashram, Surat, were honoured with the prestigious Bhaurao Deoras Seva Samman in Lucknow recently. The Samman consists of Rs 51,000 in cash, a memento, a recitation and a coconut for each of the winners.

The awards were presented by Shrikant Joshi, Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS and Padmashri Dr S.C. Rai. Usha Tai Chati immediately donated the entire amount presented to her by the Bhaurao Deoras Seva Nyas with the Samman, to Rashtra Sevika Samiti. It was the ninth award presented by the Bhaurao Deoras Seva Trust to encourage people who serve the society in different sectors.

Presiding over the function, Shrikant Joshi said that those who serve with a true spirit of service do not expect award for their work. Emphasising the need to develop the feeling of oneness in heart, Shri Joshi said that people would be drawn to the serving humankind if it was done with a pure heart. ?It is the duty of the society to organise such functions to encourage the new generation to move on the path of service,? he said.

Speaking at the function, Dr S.C. Rai urged the people to derive inspiration from Usha Tai Chati and Niranjana Behan who have earned respect in the society through their hard work and dedication. Earlier, Usha Tai Chati and Niranjana Behan gave details of their work.

Prominent among those who attended the function include Dr Ishwar Das Gupta, president of the Trust; Dr A.P. Singh, vice president; Dr Suryakant, treasurer and Prof. S.B. Singh, Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University. (VSK)
