PM Modi’s metro ride turns into youth connect
Carrying a Metro card, PM Modi travelled alongside ordinary commuters and interacted with young passengers during the journey. He was also seen engaging in light-hearted conversations with children and students, creating an unusual scene inside the Delhi Metro.
The journey offered the Prime Minister an opportunity to engage directly with young Indians outside the formal setting of a college auditorium. His interactions came amid growing conversations around the aspirations of Gen Z, particularly their expectations regarding education, employment, technology, skills and opportunities in a rapidly changing economy.

Established in 1926, SRCC has emerged as one of India’s premier institutions for Commerce, Economics and Management. Over the decades, the college has produced scholars, professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers and leaders who have contributed to various spheres of national life.
The centenary celebrations bring together the college’s current students with former principals, faculty members and alumni, creating a link between its century-long legacy and its next generation.
PM Modi returns to SRCC after 13 years
The Prime Minister’s visit marks his return to SRCC after more than a decade. He had last visited the college in 2013, when he was serving as Gujarat Chief Minister. Earlier this year, in April, PM Modi met members of SRCC’s Governing Body and a college delegation at his residence to commemorate the institution’s 100th anniversary. He also released a special commemorative postage stamp marking the milestone.
The occasion also coincides with National Teachers’ Day, adding another dimension to SRCC’s celebration of a century dedicated to education, institution-building and nurturing future generations.
