Jodhpur: “Sangh is a major effort towards social transformation. It is an organisation of the entire society, and after 100 years, a minimum foundation has been established to take this thought forward. The Centenary Year is important for us. On this occasion, we should introspect about where we started, what we were able to achieve and what we could not, and make plans for the coming period. During the Centenary Year, we have reached 12 to 18 crore families through home contact,” said RSS Sah-Sarkaryavah Arun Kumar Ji while addressing a youth medical and faculty conference organised at Ayurvedic University Karwar and Mahalakshmi College, Pratap Nagar.

He said that four things have been important in the Sangh’s 100-year journey. Nation-building through individual development, and experiencing self-confidence by taking pride in the glorious past. For a period in between, we fought a battle for our existence for a thousand years, and that was a difficult period for us. Before that, we had existed as an exemplary nation.

If the destiny of the nation has to be changed, society will have to be changed. A few great people cannot create a great nation. The country whose people are great becomes a great country. There should be a clear understanding of the nation’s character among the people of society.

He said that the biggest problem of the country is self-forgetfulness. All problems arise from self-forgetfulness. People begin to associate themselves with small identities and forget our shared heritage. A sense of unity and a common cultural consciousness have existed throughout the country for centuries. During the medieval period, the national consciousness weakened at the time of foreign invasions.

He said that our society and nation have contributed to the development of our abilities. Therefore, we should continuously awaken the feeling that the nation is supreme within ourselves, live for the country and be prepared to make sacrifices when the country faces a crisis. We should move forward by strengthening the spirit of discipline and organisation.

He said that this will increase the self-confidence and self-pride of society. Those whose self-pride and self-confidence disappear also lose their sense of duty. If the destiny of the nation is to be changed, this change will not happen through speeches. Speeches can influence individuals, but they cannot bring transformation. Change has to begin with oneself. Transformation does not begin collectively; it begins with the individual. We should rise above differences and work with a sense of national consciousness.

He said that Sangh work is divine work and is not against anyone. While carrying out Sangh work, the Sangh has never sought credit for itself.

He said that by 2047, a developed social life should be established. Social harmony should be strengthened, the family spirit should be reinforced, families should be sanskarit, the environment should be protected, civic duties should be fulfilled and the feeling of ‘Swa’ should be awakened. Youth should contribute towards building a strong and healthy society.

Govind Sahay Shukla Ji, Vice Chancellor of Ayurved University, was the chief guest, while Prant Sanghchalak Hardayal Verma Ji presided over the programmes.
