Shobha Yatra of ABVP: GenZ has prioritised national interest in campus politics, back the ideology of Gyan-Sheel-Ekta

BALLIA: On the second day of the three-day 65th State Conference of ABVP, Goraksh, more than 1,000 student karyakartas participated in a grand procession that began from the Mangal Pandey Nagar set up at Murli Manohar Town Postgraduate College, passed through the railway station, and concluded at Shaheed Chowk, where the open session was organised.

The five-mile-long procession received an enthusiastic and celebratory welcome from the people of Ballia. Throughout the route, various social organisations, local citizens, traders, and youth showered petals on the ABVP delegates, honouring them and contributing to making this journey filled with national spirit truly historic. In return, the student karyakartas filled the atmosphere with spirited chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” energising the entire city with an overwhelming sense of patriotism.

Following the procession, the open session commenced at the grand stage set up at Shaheed Chowk. The event was addressed, in order, by ABVP National Secretary Ankit Shukla, State Secretary Shashikant Mangalam Gupta, Nepalese Students Coordinator Priyanshu, National Executive Council Member Rishabh Singh Vishen, Gorakhpur Vibhag Convenor Shubham Govind Rao and Ananya. The speakers highlighted themes such as civic responsibility, Ballia’s historical role in the freedom struggle, the events of the Emergency, nation-centric missions like ‘Operation Sindoor’, and contemporary challenges faced by students and youth. Their words infused new awareness and enthusiasm among the gathered public.

In his address, ABVP National Secretary Ankit Shukla said,” Today, Ballia witnessed how a mass student organisation like ABVP with such a large number of participants, the restraint and dignity displayed by our karyakartas became the hallmark of this procession. Across India’s college campuses, ABVP is uniting student power and transforming it into national strength while simultaneously countering forces that promote confusion, division, and anti-national narratives among students. When we look at the results of student union elections in the country’s central universities, it becomes clear that Gene Z has chosen the ideology of nation-first through the guiding principles of Gyan, Sheel, and Ekta, decisively rejecting divisive and anti-India mindsets.”

The occasion was graced by Eastern Uttar Pradesh Regional Organising Secretary Ghanshyam Shahi, Regional Girls’ Wing Head Prof. Sushma Pandey, State President Dr. Rakesh Pratap Singh, State Organisation Minister Puneet Agrawal, MLA Ketki Singh, Sanjay Mishra, former State Secretary Mayank Rai, and several other dignitaries.
