INDORE: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on October 2 completed 100 years of its journey. Over the last century, the Sangh has been relentlessly and tirelessly engaged in national service. On this occasion, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, witnessed a historic and glorious moment on October 6. To mark this milestone, Path Sanchalans was organised simultaneously in 34 nagars across four districts of the Indore division.
Path Sanchalans from all local units of Indore mahanagar passed through the main roads of respective areas. The sanchalans were held in two sessions – from 9:00 to 10:30 in the morning and from 4:00 to 5:30 in the evening. Each sanchalan covered a distance of about 3 to 4 kilometres. Altogether, the sanchalans traversed nearly 170 kilometres across different parts of the city. Around 1.5 lakh Swayamsevaks participated in ganvesh, making it a magnificent spectacle of discipline and unity.
The rhythmic beats of ghosh vadan dals (musical bands) and the formations of Swayamsevaks filled the entire atmosphere with patriotic fervour. Citizens standing along the roads welcomed the Swayamsevaks by showering flowers and raising patriotic slogans.

RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Arun Kumar, Madhya Kshetra Karyavah Hemant Muktibodh, Prant Pracharak Rajmohan, and Prant Sanghchalak Dr Prakash Shastri were also present during the sanchalan.
On this occasion, a special message for national awakening and social reconstruction based on five key principles, titled ‘Sopan’, was also given. This message underlined the fundamental duties of citizens—to follow traffic rules, maintain cleanliness, respect the value of time, pay taxes honestly, and protect public property as a personal responsibility.
Swayamsevaks and citizens were urged to plant at least one tree every year, participate in water conservation activities, and design homes in a way that utilises natural light and ventilation.
A message of Swadeshi lifestyle, adopting Bharatiya attire, consuming fresh and local food, and prioritising communication in the mother tongue was also given. The message aimed to strengthen the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance), balancing modernity with tradition and leading society towards self-respect and pride in its civilisational values.
