The video was shared with the suggestion that Harish openly defended these alleged arms supplies at the United Nations.
What is the fact?
The claim is false and misleading.
The CyberPeace Research Wing checked the viral video against the original footage and statement delivered by Harish at the UNSC meeting on the situation in Afghanistan.
The original video was found on the official X account of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. It was posted with the caption identifying it as Harish’s statement at the quarterly UNSC meeting on Afghanistan.

A review of the complete original statement found no reference to India supplying weapons to Israel and no remarks similar to those heard in the viral video.
What did Harish actually say?
Harish’s original statement focused on India-Afghanistan relations and the situation in Afghanistan.
He spoke about the historical relationship between India and Afghanistan and India’s commitment to peace, stability and development in the country.
His address also referred to India’s participation in the Doha Contact Group, its bilateral development partnership with Afghanistan and regional initiatives aimed at supporting peace and stability.
The official text of the statement also contains no reference to alleged arms supplies to Israel or the 2,596 shipments mentioned in the viral video.
AI-generated speech detected
The fact-check investigations also examined whether the audio in the video had been digitally manipulated.
According to the reports, Hive Moderation’s analysis found no visible signs of manipulation in the video’s visuals.
This indicates that the original footage of Harish was used while the speech was digitally altered or replaced.
Reports also extracted keyframes from the viral video and conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens.
The search led to the original video posted by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. Researchers then compared the viral version with Harish’s complete official statement.
The comparison showed that the remarks attributed to Harish in the viral video do not appear in his actual UNSC address.
The video therefore uses genuine footage of the Indian envoy but presents it with an altered speech and a misleading context.
Parvathaneni Harish did not make the remarks about India’s alleged arms supplies to Israel shown in the viral video. His actual UNSC statement dealt with Afghanistan and India-Afghanistan relations.
The fact-check investigation also found that the speech in the viral video was likely AI-generated, with Hive Moderation assigning it a 97 per cent probability of being AI-generated.
