IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026- Registration Process begins

New Delhi: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has started the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 registration process for 13,706 vacancies under the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks, also known as CRP RRBs 15. The recruitment covers Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Officer posts in Scale 1, Scale 2 and Scale 3. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can submit the IBPS RRB 2026 application form through the official IBPS website, ibps.in. The registration window will remain open until September 21, 2026.

The recruitment is aimed at filling vacancies in participating Regional Rural Banks across the country.

The IBPS RRB vacancy 2026 includes 8,183 Office Assistant posts and 5,523 Officer-level vacancies across Scale 1, Scale 2 and Scale 3.

IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Candidates who wish to apply for IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 should meet the basic eligibility criteria of nationality and age requirements prescribed by IBPS. As per the official eligibility criteria of IBPS RRB recruitment 2026, applicants must generally be Indian citizens, while certain candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees and persons of Indian origin from specified countries may also be eligible, subject to the required Government of India eligibility certificate.

Age Limit – As on September 1, 2026, the age limit is 18 to 28 years for Office Assistant, 18 to below 30 years for Officer Scale I, 21 to below 32 years for Officer Scale II and 21 to below 40 years for Officer Scale III. The age limits are applicable to General and EWS candidates, with relaxations available for reserved and other eligible categories. The prescribed age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and 10 years for PwBD candidates. Additional relaxations are available for eligible ex-servicemen and, for the Office Assistant post, certain widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried.

Candidates should carefully enter their category, age and other eligibility details in the application form, as changes may not be permitted after the correction window closes. Merely applying for or qualifying in the recruitment process does not guarantee appointment; the concerned Regional Rural Bank will have the final authority to verify eligibility and documents before appointment. IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026: Application Fee

Candidates applying for IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 can pay the application fee online. For Officer Scale I, II and III posts, the fee is Rs 175 (including GST) for SC, ST and PwBD candidates, while all other candidates have to pay Rs 850.

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose), the fee is Rs 175 for SC, ST, PwBD, ESM and DESM candidates, while the fee for all other candidates is Rs 850. Any bank transaction charges for the online payment will have to be paid by the candidate.

How to Apply for IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026

Candidates can complete the IBPS RRB 2026 application form by following these steps:

  • Visit the official IBPS website
  • Open the link for CRP RRBs 15 recruitment
  • Select the relevant post and complete the registration process
  • Enter personal and educational details
  • Upload the required photograph, signature and other documents
  • Check the application form carefully
  • Pay the applicable application fee and submit the view
  • Download and save a copy of the submitted application for future reference

Candidates should make sure that the details entered in the application match their official documents. Errors in important information can create problems at later stages of the recruitment process.

What Happens After IBPS RRB 2026 Registration?

After the application window closes, IBPS will move ahead with the next stages of the recruitment process. Pre-Examination Training (PET) is scheduled for November for eligible candidates who have opted for it. The Preliminary Examination for Office Assistant and Officer Scale 1 will then be conducted, followed by the Main Examination for candidates who qualify. Candidates applying for Scale 2 and Scale 3 will directly appear for the Single Examination. Those shortlisted for officer posts will subsequently be called for the Common Interview.

IBPS RRB 2026 Exam Pattern for Office Assistant and Scale 1

The IBPS RRB exam pattern 2026 for Office Assistant and Officer Scale 1 includes a Preliminary Examination followed by a Main Examination. Both stages are conducted online. Candidates first have to clear the Preliminary Examination to move to the next stage. For Office Assistant (Multipurpose), candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will appear for the Main Examination. There is no interview for the Office Assistant post. The final provisional allotment is based on the candidate’s performance in the Main Examination and the vacancies reported by the participating Regional Rural Banks.

For Officer Scale 1, candidates who clear the Preliminary Examination are shortlisted for the Main Examination. Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination are subsequently called for the Common Interview.

IBPS RRB 2026 Online Examination Structure

The IBPS RRB 2026 online examination will be conducted in different stages depending on the post. Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale I candidates will first appear for the Preliminary Examination, followed by the Main Examination. Candidates must qualify in each section of the Preliminary Examination by securing the prescribed minimum cutoff marks to be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

IBPS RRB Preliminary Exam Pattern 2026

The Preliminary Examination for both Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale I will have 80 questions carrying 80 marks. The total duration will be 45 minutes, with separate timings for each section.

IBPS RRB Main Exam Pattern 2026

The IBPS RRB Main Examination for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I will consist of 200 questions carrying 200 marks. Candidates will have 120 minutes to complete the examination, with separate time limits for each section.

IBPS RRB 2026 Selection Process

The IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 is being conducted for Group A Officers in Scale I, II and III and Group B Office Assistants (Multipurpose). The examination structure varies according to the post selected by the candidate. Given below is the official process.

For Officer Scale I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose), the exam will be conducted in two phases: Online Preliminary Examination and Online Main Examination. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination and are shortlisted will be eligible to appear for the Main Examination.

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose), candidates shortlisted after the Preliminary Examination will appear for the Online Main Examination. Their provisional allotment will be based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the actual vacancies reported by the participating Regional Rural Bank in the State or Union Territory selected by the candidate.

For Officer Scale I, candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination and are shortlisted will proceed to the Online Main Examination. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their Main Examination performance will subsequently be called for a Common Interview. As per the notification, the interview will be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the assistance of NABARD and IBPS, in consultation with the appropriate authority.

For Officer Scale II (Generalist and Specialist) and Scale III, there will be no separate Preliminary Examination. Candidates will appear directly for a Single Online Examination. Those shortlisted on the basis of their performance will subsequently be called for the Common Interview, which will be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with assistance from NABARD and IBPS.
