As questions continue to emerge over the recent CJP protests in Delhi, BJP State Vice-President Dr K.S. Radhakrishnan has alleged that two Christian Bishops, including a Keralite Jesuit priest, called upon Christian youths and students to participate in the agitation, bringing the alleged role of Church leaders into the spotlight.
George Muthelil is a Jesuit priest from Kerala. He was the Principal of Loyola College. He obtained his degree and PhD from Poona University. He is the head of the Jesuit Church in South-East Asia and reports directly to the Superior General in Rome. He had stated that the Jantar Mantar agitation was a creative one and, hence, all Christian youths should participate in it.
Dr Radhakrishnan stated that the second priest, Ambros Pichayi Muthu, is a Bishop from the Vellore Diocese in Tamil Nadu. He was born in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. He obtained his PhD from the Pontifical University in Rome. He called on youths in all Christian churches to participate in the CJP agitation.
The BJP leader stated that these two Bishops did not react when Pakistani terrorists massacred innocent Bharatiyas in Pahalgam after ascertaining their religion. He questioned why they are now calling on youths to participate in the CJP agitation. “Then, what is their interest?” he asked.
He further alleged that the US and China are behind the CJP agitation. He also claimed that Islamic forces are trying hard to make Bharat an Islamic country. According to him, Evangelical groups that receive money for religious conversion in Bharat are also keen to topple the Modi government. Dr Radhakrishnan said the third group comprises Maoists. “All are against Bharat,” he added.
The BJP State Vice-President further said that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not been in power during the last 12 years, Bharat would not have existed as a country today. He also claimed that Sonia Gandhi is an Italian citizen and still holds Italian citizenship. “What devotion does she have towards Bharat? She can return to Italy any time she wants,” he said.
K.S. Radhakrishnan also questioned who bore the expenses for the food and accommodation of those who participated in the CJP agitation. He claimed that approximately 10,000 people participated in the agitation and asked, “Wouldn’t it have cost several lakhs? Who paid for it? Abhijit Deepke is jobless. Then who paid that money?”
Observers opine that the statements made and questions raised by Dr K.S. Radhakrishnan deserve answers, but no response has been forthcoming so far.
