NEW DELHI: Fresh controversy has erupted following protests organised by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in the national capital after videos circulating on social media allegedly showed a participant making a threatening remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a video circulating on social media, the individual is heard saying, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be assassinated. If it were up to me, I would do it myself.” The authenticity of the video and the identity of the speaker have not been independently verified, and there has been no official statement from the authorities regarding the incident at the time of writing.

The protests also witnessed allegations of violence against journalists covering the demonstrations. Several media personnel claimed they were heckled, intimidated or physically assaulted while reporting from protest sites. According to these accounts, some female journalists were allegedly harassed, while at least one male journalist was reportedly assaulted by members of the crowd.

Times Now journalist Dev Kotak alleged that he was attacked while covering the protest at Jantar Mantar, claiming that his clothes were torn during the incident. Other journalists also reported facing hostility from sections of the gathering while attempting to report on the demonstrations.
In another incident a woman participant was heard allegedly making derogatory remarks about the Ram Mandir and Bhagwan Ram.
The clip, which has since gone viral, purportedly captures the woman saying, “Ram Mandir or whatever the f**k it is,” a remark that has been widely criticised as offensive and disrespectful towards one of Hinduism’s most revered deities.

The video has sparked a wave of condemnation online, with many users accusing the protest of going beyond its stated agenda and turning into a platform for anti-Hindu rhetoric. Several social media users questioned how such remarks were made openly during the demonstration, while demanding accountability from the organisers.
