The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a large-scale exercise to create digital records of every student enrolled in schools across the state through the U-DISE Plus portal. The initiative is aimed at strengthening digital governance, improving education planning and ensuring that students receive government benefits without delays.
According to the state government, a special campaign is being conducted during the current academic session to update student profiles and register new admissions on the U-DISE Plus portal. The exercise covers students across government and aided schools and is intended to build a comprehensive digital database of school education.
The government said the U-DISE Plus portal has evolved beyond being a data collection platform and now serves as a key tool for planning, monitoring and managing school education. The digital records are expected to make the education system more transparent, accountable and result-oriented.
Schools have been directed to upload details of all newly admitted students on the portal. The Director General of School Education has instructed District Inspectors of Schools (DIOS), Basic Shiksha Adhikaris (BSAs) and Block Education Officers to complete the profile updates within the prescribed timeline.
The state has already made significant progress in the campaign. According to the government, 97.14 per cent of the overall work has been completed so far. The Basic Education Department has achieved 98.98 per cent completion, while the Secondary Education Department has completed 94.33 per cent of the exercise.
The government has also activated the portal for uploading details of newly admitted students in pre-primary and Class 1. District authorities have been directed to immediately complete the data entry process.
Officials said maintaining updated digital records from the beginning of the academic session will help ensure that students receive scholarships, educational assistance and other government benefits on time. The database is also expected to improve policy planning and facilitate better monitoring of the state’s education system.
