Chhindwara: For the past hundred years, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been quietly working to organise Hindu society. Every citizen has an important role to play in social transformation, said Dr. Purnendu Saxena, Madhya Kshetra Sanghachalak (Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) at the concluding ceremony of the Sangh Shiksha Varg (Students and Professionals), organised by the Mahakaushal Prant of the RSS.

Calling for Panch Parivartan (Five Transformations), he said these five principles should become part of all social institutions:
• Uphold and strengthen the family system. The family of Maryada Purushottam Bhagwan Shri Ram remains an ideal for all.
• Use Swadeshi products and promote the use of indigenous languages.
• Nature worship is a priority of Bharatiya culture; care must be taken of animals, birds, trees, and plants.
• Follow the Constitution and fulfil civic duties with sincerity.
• Promote social harmony and ensure every household has meaningful social bonds and friendships.

He further said that respect for women begins within the family and that religious conversions can also be prevented through strong family values and cultural upbringing. Society, he noted, must remain vigilant regarding sensitive issues such as Love Jihad.

Dr Saxena emphasised that conserving water, planting trees, and creating a plastic-free society are collective responsibilities. A corruption-free Bharat must begin with ethical practices within families. He urged that temples should become centres of social transformation, birthdays should be celebrated in temples, and social programmes should begin with Jana Gana Mana and conclude with Vande Mataram.

Referring to a significant social initiative, he recalled that the Kalaram Temple in Nashik, where Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was once denied entry, later welcomed Ambedkar’s descendants with respect through efforts supported by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and temple authorities.

Dr Saxena cited an inspiring example from Damakheda in Chhattisgarh, where a Kabir Panthi Guruji voluntarily initiated training for 30 families. He said this reflects the growing commitment towards social transformation among religious and community leaders. He observed that the spirit of untouchability had contributed to India’s historical subjugation and must never be repeated. Community leaders, he added, should also seriously deliberate on the social integration of inter-caste marriages.

The programme was also attended by Dr Mahendra Singh, Professor and Head of Department, Institute of Medical Sciences, Chhindwara, and noted businessman and industrialist Sanjeev Kumar Patni.

Sanjeev Kumar Patni said that since childhood he had wished to become actively associated with the RSS. While he could not connect physically, he remained connected in spirit. Challenges, he said, are inevitable, but disciplined and rigorous training helps overcome them.

Dr Mahendra Singh stated that just as a healthy body is essential for every individual, every citizen should also possess a deep sense of patriotism. There is no greater dharma than service. Bharat has gifted Yoga and Ayurveda to the world. He added that the training imparted in the Sangh Shiksha Varg is not meant for a few days but for lifelong dedication to nation-building.

Also present on the dais were Varg Sarvadhikari Arun Saiyam and Manoj Jain, Chhindwara Vibhag Sanghachalak Bhajanlal Chaupde.

Earlier, Varg Karyavah Rudra Pratap presented the report of the training camp. A total of 317 participants attended the student category and 203 participants attended the professional category from 34 districts of Mahakaushal Prant. The camp was successfully conducted with the efforts of a 26-member organising team, 56 instructors, and 95 managers.
