Ghaziabad Horror: “Finish the Story Here,” Accused’s father told Asad before Surya Chauhan’s murder, police claim

The investigation into the murder of 17-year-old Surya Pratap Chauhan in Ghaziabad's Khoda Colony has taken a significant turn with the arrest of three more accused, including the father of deceased prime accused Asad. Police claim the arrests have uncovered an alleged conspiracy that culminated in the brutal stabbing of the Class 11 student

Days after the shocking murder of 17-year-old Class 11 student Surya Pratap Chauhan in Ghaziabad’s Khoda Colony and the subsequent police encounter in which prime accused Asad was killed, investigators have arrested three more accused allegedly linked to the crime, including Asad’s father, Mohammad Nawab.

The arrests, made by the Khoda Police Station team, have brought to light disturbing allegations regarding the planning and execution of the attack that claimed the life of the teenager. According to police records, investigators believe the murder was not a spontaneous act of violence but the result of a deliberate plan allegedly hatched after an earlier dispute between Surya and Asad.

Three accused arrested

According to a press note issued by the Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate, a police team from Khoda police station arrested three accused persons on May 31 in connection with the murder case registered under Case Crime No. 352/2026.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

1. Mohammad Nawab, father of the deceased accused Asad and a resident of Priya Vihar, Khoda.
2. Farhan, a resident of Navneet Vihar, Khoda.
3. Atif, a resident of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Gate area in Khoda.

Police stated that the arrests were made near Chaudhary Charan Singh Gate following sustained efforts to track down individuals allegedly involved in the murder conspiracy.

The development comes just days after Asad, the principal accused in the case, was killed during a police encounter while allegedly attempting to evade arrest.

Murder of a 17-year-old student shocked Ghaziabad

The case relates to the murder of Surya Pratap Chauhan, a resident of Navneet Vihar Colony in Khoda and a Class 11 student.

On May 28, Surya was allegedly attacked near Sharma Dairy in Khoda Colony and stabbed multiple times in the abdomen. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment the following day.

The brutal killing triggered outrage across the locality, with family members demanding strict action against all those involved.

Police initially arrested several accused and launched a manhunt for Asad, who later died in an encounter after allegedly opening fire on police personnel attempting to apprehend him.

Interrogation reveals alleged conspiracy

The most significant revelation in the case has emerged from the interrogation of arrested accused Farhan.

According to the police press note, Farhan allegedly disclosed that the sequence of events began on the afternoon of May 28 when Asad got into an argument with Surya over riding a motorcycle.

Farhan allegedly told investigators that after the dispute, Asad informed his father Nawab and others about the altercation.

The accused then allegedly decided to retaliate against Surya.

According to the statement recorded by police, the group formulated a plan to confront the teenager later that day.

Investigators claim the accused deliberately targeted Surya and waited for an opportunity to isolate him.

Surya cornered in Navneet Vihar

According to the police note, the accused allegedly tracked Surya’s movements and cornered him around 3:30 pm in Gali No. 4 of Navneet Vihar.

Farhan allegedly told police that he handed over a knife to Asad before the attack.

The police note further claims that Nawab, the father of Asad, allegedly instructed his son to “end the story” during the confrontation.

Investigators allege that immediately thereafter, Asad attacked Surya and stabbed him in the stomach.

The teenager collapsed after suffering severe injuries.

According to the statement attributed to Farhan, the accused believed Surya had died after he fell to the ground bleeding profusely.

The group allegedly fled the scene, leaving the critically injured teenager behind.

Police describe murder as a planned attack

The latest revelations have strengthened investigators’ suspicion that the crime may have been premeditated rather than the outcome of a sudden altercation.

According to police records, the sequence of events outlined during interrogation suggests there was a gap between the initial dispute and the eventual attack, during which the accused allegedly discussed and planned their actions.

The alleged involvement of Nawab has become a crucial aspect of the investigation, as police attempt to establish the exact role played by each accused before, during and after the murder.

Investigators are currently examining witness statements, digital evidence and call records to corroborate the claims made during interrogation.

Earlier arrests and encounter of main accused

The murder investigation had already witnessed dramatic developments after Asad, identified as the principal accused, was killed during a police encounter in the Khoda area.

According to police, Asad had been absconding after the murder and a reward had been announced for information leading to his arrest.

Police claimed that when officers attempted to intercept him, he allegedly opened fire on the police team, prompting retaliatory firing in self-defence.

He sustained injuries during the exchange and was later declared dead at a hospital.

The encounter generated intense public attention, particularly because Surya’s family had repeatedly demanded swift justice against all those responsible for the killing.

Family continues to demand justice

Even after the encounter and subsequent arrests, Surya Chauhan’s family has maintained that everyone involved in the conspiracy must face the full force of the law.

Family members have consistently alleged that multiple individuals participated in the attack and have urged authorities to ensure that each accused is prosecuted.

The arrest of Nawab, Farhan and Atif is being viewed as a significant breakthrough in that direction.

With the arrest of three additional accused and the alleged disclosures made during interrogation, the Ghaziabad Police investigation has entered a crucial phase.

Officials are now focused on establishing the precise chain of events that led to the murder of the 17-year-old student and determining the role of each accused in the alleged conspiracy.

As investigators continue to gather evidence, the Surya Chauhan murder case remains one of the most closely watched criminal investigations in western Uttar Pradesh, drawing attention to questions of youth violence, criminal conspiracy and the circumstances that led to the tragic death of a teenager whose life was cut short in a brutal act of violence.
